Trivia:

  • His father Wallace, worked as a seismologist so the family moved all over the world for his job. His English mother Anne, worked as a tour guide

  • Doesn't own a watch or a cell phone

  • Attended Knox Grammar School in Sydney

  • Has an older brother, Simon and a younger sister, Anna-Jane

  • Suffers from epilepsy

  • Is 6' 2" tall

  • Is a pescetarian. He eats fish but no other meat

  • Lived in Nigeria until he was 1 years old. This was followed by living in Bedford and Brighton in England, then onto Johannesburg in South Africa, Melbourne and Sydney and then back to England. In 1976 the family returned to Australia where they stayed

  • Fractured his hip during the making of The Matrix Reloaded and the The Matrix Revolutions (2003)

  • Whilst in England he attended Queen Elizabeth's Hospital School in Bristol, as well as The Downs School, a private school in Wraxhall, Somerset

  • He has been with partner Katrina Greenwood since 1983. They have two children together, Harry born in 1989 and Holly born in 1993

  • In 1981, graduated from the National Institute of Dramatic Arts (NIDA) in Sydney

  • Does not drive due to his epilepsy and has never learned

  • Was born at the University Teaching Hospital in Ibadan, Nigeria

  • Spent the summer of 2009 in God of Carnage for the Melbourne Theatre Company

  • Attended the same high school as Hugh Jackman

  • His niece Samantha Weaving is an actress

  • Is the primary ambassador for Australian animal rights group Voiceless

  • While performing at the Sydney Opera House, he was once carried off stage after he collapsed and suffered convulsions
