  • Attended St. Mun's Primary School

  • In 2007 he performed opposite Sir Ian McKellen in King Lear playing the role of the Fool. They toured worldwide with the production in places such as Melbourne and Auckland. The production was also filmed for TV

  • His father was an Royal Navy submarine officer during World War II. He was killed on 18th July 1943, a month before he was born

  • From the ages 12-16, he trained at Blair's College to become a priest, but later decided to become a lay monk as he wanted to travel. He failed to be accepted by the Dominican Order due to his young age

  • He has sung with the Welsh National Opera

  • He acted as a bodyguard one night for the Rolling Stones, his job was to keep fans from getting onto the stage

  • He can play the spoons and the xylophone

  • His mother, Mary Sheridan was Irish and his father, Percy James Kent-Smith was English

  • He was a member of the comedy act the "Ken Campbell Roadshow" where he played a character called "Sylveste McCoy". He took the name as his stage name and later added an "r" to the name

  • Is technically the longest serving actor playing Doctor Who due to the years the show was off-air with his Doctor the last seen
