Hi everybody! I am Arianna. I love LOTR and The Hobbit. I wish I could read Silmarillion though. Well, I am 18 years old. I love reading, tennis and studying. I don't know much about the forum but I hope I'll get used to it. When I went to the banners section, they were dedicated to some of the people. I was wondering if I am allowed to use them. I loved some of those so I am going to use it anyways but if it is not allowed then I'll be careful next time onwards.

Arianna, welcome to A-U!
The forum is quite big and can be a bit overwhelming in the beginning. Just take your time and hop around to see what the different sections is about and you will soon get a good feel for it. If you are looking for something specifically you are more than welcome to ask for tips here.
LotR discussions on book and movies are in the upper part of the board, just below the introduction section. In Life Outside LotR you can talk about your life in general, music, books and movies and also get a good chance to meet the members of A-U.
Concerning the banners. Those on the main site are all made by Arwen the Webmaster and dedicated to different people in various banner claimings. Feel free to use them though, I'm sure no one minds - and good graphics deserve to be displayed!
If you want a specific banner made and dedicated for you, you can take a look in the Graphics forum. There are many talented graphics makers who would love to make a banner just for you!

I think people would be fine with you using their banners, as long as they aren't still using them. But the last claim was back in December, so most people have updated their siggies by now.
If you want a personal graphic, feel free to PM me. Right now I only do LotR graphics, but if I may say so they're quite pretty.

This place is big, but it really is wonderful. Just wander around and get your bearings.
