Ohhh... these endless mountains sound delightful! I used to live in the mighty Cascades of Washington state for many years.
There was much I liked about it, and a few things that were trying but accepted as it came from living in such a beautiful place.

I'm in an area of Pennsylvania that is actually called, "Endless Mountains" and not far from the State Park, "World's End." Interesting names, to be sure, and the mountains really do seem endless.

Washington State is very beautiful - I only saw the mountain range from the air, but Seattle was simply breathtaking. Being from the East Coast, anything West Coast was exotic and (or course) quite different from what I was accustomed to and I only saw Seattle one time. I spent summers between Monterey and Big Sur and Nantahala, NC. Busy, busy........but, so much fun.

I would post photo images if I knew how to make them small enough for the site to accept! LOLOLOL!!!!

I traded in that rustic mountain cabin life for a place where it is summer all year (to me anyways). Here I have the Glasshouse mountains. They aren't as high or massive as the Cascades were, as they are much older geologically and are all worn down volcano cones from the prehistoric days. Some lovely hikes to take.

I never made it to the east coast when I lived in the states. As far east I have gotten was Chicago, but had been to just about every state west of the Mississippi River. Noy when I visit, I go to Seattle to see kids and grandkids, or to California where my younger kids live (one in Riverside and one in San Jose). Always wanted to go 'back east' when I lived in Washington.

Never made it to Pennsylvania during the time my parents and I lived in the US. NYC (Queens), Long Island, southern New Jersey, New Hampshire / Vermont, and a visit to Cambridge, Mass (Yale American Football game), and a short popover to Canada (Montreal for the 1967 world fair and Toronto) were the limits, 1966 to 1975. Made it to Minneapolis / St. Paul in Minnesota in 1976 visiting a high school buddy where he went to college, which was the last time I've been in the US.

Thank you, Hanasian! Springtime in the Endless Mountains is always a time of renewal - the family of Rose-breasted Grosbeaks has returned for the third year, in a row. They aren't seen very much, and it's a true delight to watch them come to my feeders. And, the Great Blue Heron has returned, along with "Sam," the Bald Eagle just in time to follow the trout-stocking trucks. The Merganzer family has returned, as well. Next, the amazing hummingbirds should zoom in.

We did have some flooding and there has been a tremendous amount of logging on some of these mountainsides, so I can only imagine the mudslides that are possible. Eeeeaaach....

Again, thanks for the enthusiasm! I appreciate it, truly.
