Eowyn!!! Not that I don't like Arwen but in the movie, she kinda gets on my nerves because she takes Glorfindel's part and all that. Plus, every single guy seems to like Arwen better for all the wrong reasons. The book Arwen I LOVE though...
Arwen is cool, Eowyn is cooler!

I agree ^.
I like Arwen because of her patience and endurance. She was always hopeful even when she had more then enough reasons to not be. She waited for Aragorn instead of taking the easy way out and sailing into the west. And I love her kindness to Frodo! But, like Sapphire said, I was upset that she took Glorfindel's place. (Even though that seen rocks)
Eowyn is my overall choice though! She had the courage to enter battle so she might fight for her loved ones. She kept going after Aragorn disappointed her, and she never gave up when Theoden was poisened by Sauruman and Eomer was banished. She also was there for her people when they needed her.
Eowyn is just very, very awesome.. To me at least. And I love her friendship with Merry.
Alright, I'll shush up now.

duh i like Eowyn. I relate to her the most and she is like a great role model, to me at least.
I definitely agree with you
Éowyn is my favourite character, well after Legolas of course
I've never really liked Arwen.

I know I should really be voting for Éowyn here as the Rohirrim are the race in Middle-Earth I relate to the most but I voted for Arwen because I wouldn't mind living for as long as she has, wear the gorgeous gowns she does, live in Rivendell and yeah make out with Aragorn. Had this been a book discussion, I'd voted for Éowyn without a doubt though

I love Eowyn - brave, loyal, determined, outgoing, strong/brave.. but Arwen has got to earn my vote (more so the book Arwen though, not the movie Arwen) she's patient and stubborn (through my eyes any way)
.. and those are two of my own most recognsable traits.

UGH!! Eowyn all the way!!!! arwen seems like a spoiled little girl in TTT and ROTK, the only part i like her is when she stands up to the ringwraiths, but other then that she is weird, just my opinion! but eowyn believes that nothing should stand in her way to go to battle with the men, WOMAN RIGHTS!!!! oh yea! but eowyn surpasses arwen by a longshot!

has to be eowyn. she was only 24 (i think) at the time of the war of the ring but she'd already lost her parents at an early age, been forced to watch her uncle's decline, had to deal with grima following her around, been rejected by the guy she thought she loved, and struggled with immense loneliness and the awful feeling that she'd never be allowed to be who she wanted to be. that's a heck of a lot of issues, and yet she survived them all (she said she wanted death in battle but she clearly wasn't suicidal cuz she could easily have killed herself if that was the case - i think it was the honour and the feeling of achievement that she wanted more) and that shows incredible strength. i also love the way she allows her love for faramir to change her and submits to a more feminine role - that may seem like weakness, but i see it as another form of strength. plus, she kills the witch king, which is just cool!
i do really admire arwen's strength in sacrificing her immortality for her love and waiting all that time for him, but all she really does is sit in rivendell looking pretty then sit in gondor looking pretty then die.

I'm basing my answer off of the book, not the movies, because there are lots of things in the movie I don't like. So I'd say I have to go with Eowyn. Arwen... well, she's sort of your typical princess type. In the book there isn't really much between her and Aragorn, and she doesn't save Frodo.
Eowyn is more like me, or is me, really. All the personality tests that have Eowyn in them I ALWAYS get Eowyn. I look like her, too. Not that that makes a difference. But she's so strong, yet caring. She wants to show that she can do things as well as any man, but she still has femininity. Sort of like me. So, yeah, I'd have to go with Eowyn- all the way down to the tip of my toes.

Eowyn all the way.
I've never been a fan of Arwen, to put it politely, but I don't think I should go into that here. I agree with galadriel2812 and lalaithnindel, though.
