I say Boromir, just because it's so tragic that only when he's mortally wounded does he really display wisdom that would have helped him a LOT if he lived. Gandalf comes in second, but hey, I knew he was coming back! Theoden would be third, Haldir fourth, and Theodred fifth (b/c you never really get to know Theo at all).

well...yea many knew that he was coming back, but we would have to think Gandalfs death in this topic as if we wouldn`t have known about his return...I mean when you first found out that he died and so on...but after gadalf i put boromir, the theoden and finally haldir

I got to say Boromi...
Why?
1) I had read the book and i knew gandalf wouled come back.
2) Haldir is a secound place and Theoden comes on my third.
3) Boromirs death is so dramaticly in the movie
4) I liked Boromir :(

(why dident u add Denathor??)

Because Denethor was psychotic! I just can't feel sorry for anyone who tries to burn their son alive...

I voted Boromir. He was such a great warrior and just wanted to save Merry and Pippin, he didn't deserve death.

this might sound kinda heartless... but i wasnt really sad at all (except for the other characters) when gandalf died because i knew he came back.

haldir was... well i never really got attached to him so i wasnt REALLY sad. i mean, yeah it was sad, but not like i'm-going-to-go-home-and-cry-until-i-run-out-of-tears sad.

theoden was, for me, sadder in the book than in the movie. when my mom or dad read that part to me (it was my bedtime story) i cried myself to sleep. i guess i didnt really get attached to movie-theoden either.

Um... i laughed when denethor died. not cause i was glad he was dead, but, i mean, how funny is a a flaming fireball jumping off the top of minas tirith. in the cast commentary, john noble (i think, it might have been someone else) was talking about how he had this hilarious image in his head of the flaming stunt guy jumping off and then pulling the parachute string, but the parachute is all burned up.

anyways, those are my thoughts.

oh wait, i forgot boromir.

i think that hit me hardest because it's depressing to see someone have reset his priorities and get his life in order, and then die. and the "my brother, my captain, my king" speech reduced me to tears. i tried not to get attached to him since i knew he was gonna die, but i couldnt help it. maybe it was his amazing voice.

Well, because Gandalf returned his death wasn't so sad anymore. Theoden and Haldir's death were very sad and I always cry on both of them but I voted for Boromir because his death was presented so dramatic and it makes me sad only when I think about it or when I hear the music for this scene...

I have been bound to the elves, mellonaminea i' edhel - my friends the elves, but I must confess that the most tragic death was of the heroic Boromir, a true warrior, fought and died with courage and heart, and showed his true colors in the protection of the friends he once nearly turned on.

Quel esta mellonamin Boromir

almost perfect milady with the exception of one thing if I may inquire, "Il lanta" should be Ilanta or Illanta, "not" is always combined (as is don't) with the word behind it.

Example for Don't: Amin n'deloth vys means I don't hate you
Example for Not: Amin I'ba means I'm not dead not and dead are conjoined due to the fact that it explains you are NOT dead.

I don't know if it was just a mistype or if it were an accident of different sort, but I thought I would note it for future reference.

I have to say Theoden. Just the way that Eowyn tried to save him really got to me. Boromir's death really didn't get to me. I guess I was still pissed of with him for going at Frodo like that.

Wow, Boromir's winning, who'd thought?

Anyway, I voted Boromir because, well even though the guy was kinda greedy and all but he still...died...saving Merry and Pippin and it makes him more heroic than greedy.
