It would be a tie between all of the movies. I'm so emotional. :) I cried when Gandalf fell and when Sam almost drowned, and when Sam was saying his speach about 'And it's somethin' worth fightin' for!'! And at the end of ROTK.

Certainly Return of the King. But I cried in both the others too.

It always makes me cry when Gandalf dies, especially because the other Fellowship members are so sad... and Boromir's death typically makes me an emotional mess for days. And also, sometimes when Frodo says "I will take it!" at the council, I start crying, thinking of what will happen. And also when Gandalf and Frodo have their conversation "All you have to decide is what to do with the time that is given to you." And at the Mirror of Galadriel. And when Boromir and Aragorn have their conversation in Lorien. The first two years I loved LotR, I didn't cry in all those places. But after RotK, I... well, RotK changed a lot of things.

In TTT, I cry when Arwen has the vision of Aragorn's death, and also when Sam gives his beautiful speech at the end.

In RotK... when Arwen has her vision of Aragorn and Eldarion, when Faramir says "You wished now that our places had been exchanged..." and then when he's riding to Osgiliath with the Gondorian soldiers. And at the charge of the Rohirrim, and Theoden's death, and when Gandalf and Pippin talk about Valinor, and during the houses of healing, and when Pippin find Merry on the battle field... and then when Sam looks up in Mordor and sees the star... and then basically the whole last hour of RotK solid.

Yes, I know, I cry a lot... but really, I can't help it... I'm normally not a crying person at all, I'm normally really cold and emotionless, but it's when I'm watching LotR that I finally let myself vent some of what I feel. And RotK seriously changed my life. I remember going into it thinking "I'll be really ashamed if I don't cry at the Gray Havens." And I ended up crying so hard I could barely breathe, and after that I looked at the world differently.

I agree. :) I cry when I'm not watching the movies, like when I'm thinking about everything that happened. It's so sad!

I think that TTT was the most emotional, and though I've only cried once during LOTR (at the end of ROTK, I was so mad that that was the end of the LOTR tale!) I've felt like crying many times in TTT.

Sam's little talk at the end nearly made me burst out sobbing, and Haldir's death made me sad. Haldir did die in TTT, right? *forgetful*

ROTK without a doubt. Frodo's departure got me most, but the fact that the fellowship was finally over and the ring was becoming heavier and Frodo describes the tastes and smells he's forgotten etc. I became soo attached to all of the characters which made the last movie even more moving.

Well, let's see.... I cried when Boromir died the second and third time I saw them, almost cried all 3 times I've seen them (Hey, i've only been allowed to see them since end of June and we were in the middle of a move so I didn't have time) when Gandalf died. The second and 3 times I saw TTT I cried during Sam's "The great stories" speech, and I ALWAYS cry in the last 15 minutes of RotK and am teary eyed for the whole last hour or so.

there was a point in all the movies where i've gotten pretty teary-eyed. you've got to admit, there's a good amount of emotional scenes in the movies.

I think I cried during each movie. Seeing Boromir's death scene soo many times made me upset, it was a good scene don't get me wrong but it is still sooo sad! The loss of Gandalf in Moria and eveyone's reaction to it made me teary eyed. I wanted to jump in and just hold them all in my arms :P
I always cry for all the death scenes :( (Boromir, Theoden, and Haldir)They are soo sad. Sam's speach at the end of TTT makes me teary eyed too, it's soo beautiful. I think that the one that getts eveyone in the ending of ROTK.

TTT for me... when Haldir died I was so shocked that I didn't eat for days and I got dehydrated... that's how bad it was... ask my mum  she thought I'd gone mental because it was only a fictional character

If it weren't for my annoying neighbour in the cinema who was sighing at every scene in the final of RotK, I would have been very much in tears yes! Fortunately I was able to make up for that watching the DVD :)
