Anyone seen this?

http://marketsaw.blogspot.com/2008/01/i ... iders.html

Not sure how credible this is... But wow! I can't imagine The Hobbit in 3D!

Oh great... I'm sorry I'm such a cynic. But now it's going to be in 3D? I guess that's pretty cool (and I'm sure there will be the option of not watching it so), but it just seems more and more and more like they're just trying to get a bunch of money. Granted, this IS their business... but I don't know... I can't explain myself really. :(

^No, I understand what you're saying... :( Yeah, it does. First with the making of two movie, and now with this 3D thing? Granted, I've never really seen a quality 3D movie (anyone out here seen Beowulf?:)), but it just seem weird.

That being said, I am excited. But I'm bracing myself for disappointment. Besides, with three years untill the scheduled release date, this could all change. ;)

*just finds and decides pops into the thread*

Oh, The Hobbit, huh? Hmmm, I'm actually looking forward to this... sorta. It depends on what they do with it. They can either make it REALLY good or make it REALLY bad, of course. ;) I mean, there are certain things that are MUSTS for it to be good... but anyway, did I hear something said about it in 3D? Oh, dear! I hope not! 3D movies make teh PD sick to watch... and really is it necessary? LotR isn't in 3D and it's still amazing! :-D anyway I shall leave now...

yeah I agree. I wouldn't want the Hobbit to be a 3D movie either. I love the LotR movies the way they are and I think the Hobbit shouldn't be too different from LotR, because these two stories belong together.

I know and I don't really like the idea. I think they just wanna earn money by that, because LotR has been such a great success. I like the movies the way they are and I don't want them to be changed again.

^I have to say I agree with you. why in the world do they have to go messing around with things that are perfectly fine the way they are? :eyeroll: Money grubbers... *sighs* not that it'll change much for me, I guess, if they do. I just wish people could be content with things every now and then... anyway, back to the topic of The Hobbit... 2010 then? that gives me enough time to get around to reading the book then. :teehee: (after I'm done reading all the ones I want to... just for the record it doesn't take me years to finish stories like The Hobbit. lol)

My mom put the article for me on my bed, and I started crying when I found it.....I know....I'm a freak. I'm glad, though, that those guys are breaking it up into two films, because that woud hopefully make it follow the book more. And if Ian Holm, Ian McKellen, and Andy Serkis aren't in it, I'm going to hurt someone. It can't be the Hobbit without the original Bilbo, Gandalf, and Gollum... I mean com'on!!!!!!

Gotta agree with you all about the lotr 3D thing. Though, it would be kinda cool for those unlucky enough to see the trilogy in theaters... :P But, no. Not 3D.

PD - You haven't read The Hobbit? Yeah, they want it to come out Christmas 2010. :) Seems so far away.

Precious - Isn't Ian Holm a bit old to play a young Bilbo, though?

I would be okay with it if they used another actor in the hobbit if they never did that flashback.... but they did the flashback, and we know what bilbo looked like when he was young

ish.

Oh, I'm sure they could make hime look older... But Bilbo might be a little demanding character to play for a 76 year-old. He has to do a lot of phisically demanding scenes, and spend a lot of time on his knees. (Ohmygosh, I did not mean for that to rhyme! :duh:) I'd like hime to play Bilbo too... But I'm not sure how realistic that is.
