Post subject:  Easter Eggs

I can't really help you with FotR and TTT because I have region 2 DVD's that don't have all of them on (too rude for our censors apparently!)

On Region 2 DVD's

For FotR - The only one is on the second disc - Go to select a scene, select the final chapters. Scroll through that page until a slanted tower appears next to the words "New Scene" - You should then get Peter Jackson describing the Easter Egg (A trailer for Two Towers).

There are no Easter Eggs on the Region 2 TTT DVD

For RotK -
Disc 1 go to the select a scenes. Select the chapters 33 - 36. Then scroll down through the 33-36 page itself, once you reach 36, if you press the down button again a ring should appear next to the words "New Scene." Press play and you should be presented with Elijah Wood describing what the Easter Egg is about (Dom's spoof interview with him)

Disc 2 - follow the same principle as above Select 77-78 this time and scroll down through the two chapters until the ring appears next to "New Scene" Press play again and this time you should get the supremely silly (but very funny) MTV sketch featuring Vince Vaughan and Ben Stiller trying to get PJ interested in a sequel.

I presume that if you have region 1 DVD's this principle will call up any other Easter Eggs that are there. Hope this helps. :bye2:

Thanks Mablung for the info!

On Region 1 FotR there is the MTV skit of the 'Alternative Version of the Council of Elrond' with Jack Black & Sarah Michelle Gellar, as well as the trailer for TTT (I believe?)

On Region 1 TTT there is the MTV Movie Awards acceptance speech by Andy Serkis/Gollum

Region 1 RotK is the same as the above post

Yeah, teh people making the DvD have to entertain themselves somehow looking at all those lines of code all day!

Don't feel stupid. I didn't know what an Easter Egg was until July of this year.

With the british FOTR EE DVD there is no Easter Egg because it was a PG and it contained mild adult contant supposedly.

The ROTK interview with Elijah and Dom german thing was really funny :)

The swear words censors were so lame that you could hear Elijah swear clearly :-D

Hmmm...I didn't know that, and I live in Britian. But, I bought my EE's when I was visiting the US. I guess that might explain it. =/

Yeah, the first one wasn't exactly clean, but for a movie rated PG-13 you wouldn't of thought they'd mind.

It isn't a PG-13, it's a PG. We don't have PG-13s in Britain but we have 12As. PG are supposed to be sutible for children 8+.

Is there an easter egg on both TTT dvds? I saw the Gollum one which was funny but not as good as the PJ/Vince Vaughan/Ben Stiller scene. I think I watched that 5 consecutive times one day...
