I just have to say, I've been a fan of Lord of the Rings ever since the first one came out. I remember going every year for three years straight, to watch them as movie premieres.

I'm currently in the process of writing a book with a writing partner and whenever I seem to get writer's block, I listen to the RotK soundtrack. It gives me SO much inspiration!!! So much, in fact, that I end up writing full chapters afterward.

Am I the only one that this has happened to?

PS... Thank the Valar for Howard Shore<3

I've written a few stories after or while i was listening to one of the soundtracks, I also listen to them when I do my homework, its relaxing. And good luck with your book! I can never seem to finish mine...

Lithôniel, thank you so much for your good luck! :D
I hope that I finish it with my writing partner soon. It's gonna be REAL good. ;)

And dude... The Lord of the Rings really does bring out the best in people. Makes me wanna go to a different world. Haha!

I know! Its so easy to just let the music sweep you away, and let your mind wander to distant worlds! Its just absolutely fantastic!

The LotR soundtrack is just amazing. It has inspired me in so many different instances. I remember listening to it during my junior year of high school when I was faced with my first ever paper in AP English Literature--my topic was comparing and contrasting LotR and Beowulf. Ambitious, huh? There were easier topics related to Beowulf (the LotR compare/contrast one was actually supposedly the hardest of the options), but I couldn't say no to writing about LotR. I couldn't for the life of me come up with a cohesive thesis, however, until I turned on my FotR soundtrack. ^___^ I ended up writing about how in Beowulf, heroes are born, whereas in LotR a hero can be created starting from nothing. I still have the paper saved on my computer at home (I'm pretty sure). I worked so hard on it and have never been more proud of an assignment I've done, even if it only ended up getting a 93%. What can I say, I'm a perfectionist!

Of course, the soundtracks are perfect for more than just homework motivation. XD Listening to them is the perfect way to get muse for creative writing, or just to brighten my mood when I need it. When I have a bad day and nothing else will cheer me up, the opening notes of "Concerning Hobbits" never fails to bring a smile to my face. The music, I think, is half of what makes the films so amazing. <3

^ I agree, I love Concerning Hobbits, just puts a smile on my face, and it makes me want to go for a walk through the woods and enjoy the outdoors.

Amara, what's your story about? if you dont mind me asking, that is.

I can never listen to them if I;m gonna do anything because I just wanna lie on the floor with my eyes closed because it makes me imagine such beautiful things. :) (I'm not crazy!)

It's an epic three-booked tale that involves a lot of mythological creatures. And my character Amara. :)

I do this all the time! The LotR soundtracks and my Hans Zimmer pandora station make studying seem so much more epic. :pirate:
