I'm Level 36 and haven't paid a penny. :) It's free up to a certain point, and you can choose to pay if you want, but you can get a lot of use out of it without paying anything.

I'm a point where I'm running out of things to do in the free version. I'm going to have to start paying for it soon. Good thing the VIP account isn't much money.

So I played this some time ago on a computer that then crashed and I hadn't been able to play it since. Just yesterday I reinstalled it to my new computer. And had completely forgotten what characters I had on what servers and had to go through all the servers to find them.

My brother plays on my account and has two characters on the Nimrodel server.
I have a character(lvl1) on the Firefoot server.
But my main characters are on the Dwarrowdelf server.
Eonera lvl 15 Champion(or guardian... which one do you have to buy and usually has a spear to start with?)
A lvl 12 elf Hunter, Farothruin
A lvl 1 bard that I created recently just to go through the tutorial and remember the controls.

And isn't it lvl 69 that is the top lvl you can reach with a free account? I'm pretty sure that's what the main website says.

But I've got the Shadow of Angmar extension pack that I have yet to use, and would love to get it, and the other expansion packs that are out.

I play on Crickhollow server, mostly my two high level elves -- hunter and warden. I lead a kinship there too, so if anyone wants to check out some all-elven lore-lovin' roleplay... let me know.

And yeah, the game has gone F2P. It's a lot slower beyond level 30 if you don't have a subscription, but it is possible to do the entire game without paying a cent. You earn 'turbine points' by completing deeds in-game, and you can use those to buy more content.

I'm a level 58 champion on Imladris and I'm f2p but I do buy turbine point once in awhile.

Me too. I hate doing spiders quests and deeds. Arachnophobic. It makes completing them very hard. I stare down at my keyboard while killing them lol

If you look on the site, it will not run on macs, never has, never will. :/ It was a coding decision.
