Yay! LOTR Online is now Free to Play! Whoot! Now that BETA testing is over I can admit that the F2P version of LOTRO is what I was BETA-ing months ago. :lol:

Needless to say there are certain things that aren't readily availible to the free players but overall there is still a lot to do and many ways to earn TP (Turbine Points) through gameplay. The LOTRO shop uses the points to get equpiment and upgrade (and the like) to the F2P players. Expansions can be bought there too.



I'm actually happy this went F2P. I have wantd to play it for so long but I never had the funds to do so. I'm playing it now though. :happy:

I'm pretty well addicte...d to it but the only thing I didn't like was the huge ammount of time it took to download

Hey! Yeah I think it was a good move to go F2P because this way those who want/can spend money on it can and will but those who want to play with out doing so can play as well. *nods*

It's a really fujn game, must say my favorite. I'm fortunate, my Grandmother (partly for a birthday present) got me a life-time subscription. Because it was so expensive I worked it off for her, though over the next year doing odd jobs here and there she needed done.

Yeah... it does take forever to download, but if you keep it updated (once it's up-to-date_) it's not near as bad.

So how many people here play and on what servers? (or is there a thread for all that stuff?)

Cool... I think my first character was on that server. I've Moved to ARkenstone now, though so my wife and I could start characters together... though I don't have as much time to play as I used to...

LOTRO is AWESOME way better than Guild Wars (though some of the graphics are better in GW) and Aralon (iPad)

Osfar lvl 10 Dwarf Guardian from the Lonely Mountain, Armourer- Metalsmith, Tailor, Prospector. What do you have? (you don't have to do all of what i did, just the race and class)
