Do I cheat? Hell yeah!

In Medieval II Total War, if I'm feeling really lazy and don't feel like fighting, I type in the cheat that let me automatically win the battle. I've given myself millions of florins through cheats and my buildings seem to miraculously finish in one turn. Several dozens of them.

If I'm finding memories or glyphs in either Alice: Madness Returns or Assassin's Creed II, I'll consult an online guide. And in Morrowind, I both consult guides and use cheats.

The way I see it the purpose of games is to have fun firstly, challenge yourself secondly. I do not let the latter get in the way of the former.

Me? Cheat? Yeah... sometimes...

I actually have a spiral notebook that has come to become called the "cheat book". Basically all it is, is a list of cheat codes for varoius games. Though I only look up the cheat codes after I've beaten the game once. I've got them for both Star Wars Battlefronts, LotR RotK game, Eragon, Mercenaries 1 & 2 and many many others. My brother uses it more than me. It also has the puzzle answer for the first three in the Myst game series(which I wrote down as I figured them out on my first play through).

It's only when I get generally and completely stuck that I'll look up walkthroughs, and that's actually rare. Though I do have the walkthrough books for Final Fantasy VII(is that a surprise?) and Final Fantasy VIII, but that's only because I just so happened upon them at a store that sells used stategy guildes.

Hmm, I look at walkthroughs all the time. I'd rather do that than stumble my way through a quest, especially if the quest makes you do weird stuff.

I don't do cheats, though, until maybe, yeah, I've already beaten the game. Honestly it takes the fun out of beating it the first time :P

Hey, I had a friend who knew the nuclear bomb cheat for C&C on PS1 off by heart :P

And yes. If it makes the game experience better for me, then Ill do that. But I will cheerfully break my mind to win on principle without them too :P Depends on the game I think. In RTS's, they can both single handedly make the game awesome, and ruin it, while in an fps, having infinite ammo and god mode on just makes you feel like such a boss :)
