Post subject:	What are they saying in TTT?
Thins might actually belong in the Language section, but since it's a question about the TTT I'll post it here. 1. After the battle Eowyn finds Aragorn to the feast and offers him to drink the toast. What does she say to him? (Rohirric?) 2. What does Gandalf say to Theoden when he is mourning his son at the burial place? (Elvish?)

Eowyn says, "Westu Aragorn hal." --- "Be thou Aragorn well." What Gandalf says to Theoden was actually to Theodred was also Rohirric and is basically the same thing, no sense in giving some sort of proverb in Elvish if the blasted man can't understand it. He says, "Westu hál. Ferðu, Théodred, Ferðu." which means, "Be thou well. Go thou, Theodred, go thou." and for good measure --- best put this in languages.

Owh... *is being moved* But thank you Kit. Since Gandalf's mother tongue... (if you can say that about a guy who speaks all the languages of Middle-erath fluently) is Elvish I think I imagined it would be that... something like a comforting or a blessing.

For "knowing all the languages of M-E", Gandalf knew all the language of Men, Elves, and Orcs, but didn't know Dwarvish. His "mother-tongue" from over in Aman might either be Valarin or Quenya.
