The story I am going to tell may shock some of you. It did me.

I belong to a forum on another website. It is not mainly LOTR, but there is a LOTR forum there. Well, a girl posted a message that said "I know this is weird, but I fancy Frodo. does anyone else?" first of all, it's a shame that she thought it was weird to fancy Frodo. But then all kinds of idiot people started posting and telling her she was weird to fancy Frodo! Isn't that terrible?!? I wanted to smack them! So I posted and told her that of course it wasn't weird, a lot of people fancy Frodo, myself included. I couldn't believe that people actually called her weird for liking Frodo.
Thoughts? Do you fancy Frodo? Post it here! :)

well, not really. but it isn't right for people to tell her that it's weird. lots of people here fancy Frodo. i personally see nothing wrong with fancying Frodo. stupid people, anything they don't do is weird just because they don't.

I don't think it's weird to 'fancy' (is this a british term? It it the same as having a crush on someone?) anyone in LotR. They're all so awesome! I wouldn't blame someone for fancying Saruman, for goodness' sake!

Wow ... i think it's perfectly fine to fancy Frodo. He's the main character! People are just stereotyping and assuming that every LotR fan has to love Elves.

I'm glad to see that some people agree with me. And yes "fancy" is a British term that means the same as having a crush on someone. The other forum I belong to is British.
Even if you don't fancy Frodo yourself, it's completely wrong to insult someone because they do. Besides, Frodo = very fanciable! :)

I agree that the eyes of said Mr. Turner are quite delectable in their own way, but they can hardly be compared to the eyes of Frodo...... they're completely different.
mmmmmm.......... *drifts off into dreaming about the beautiful eyes*

Well it changes from culture to another culture. Some people could think that it is right or some could not. But having crush on people is a harmless thing I believe

Don't ask me if I find it right to fancy Frodo
He has the most beautiful eyes... [No, shut up!!]

No, honestly: Even if you don't like him yourself, how could you insult somebody who does? Most of us have a crush on an actor or a character (or at least like him very much). What's wrong with that?

Besides, in real life, I have to be careful about telling people that I'm in love with Frodo. If you tell it the wrong person, you get very often this look: :confused2:. But I don't care any more about it. Other people are crazy about Brad Pitt, and I am about Frodo. End of the discussion. :-)

And btw: Frodo is swoonworthy, no question! If a girl liked Grima, I'd think her to be a bit weird :P, but Frodo?!

Ditto there. :)

But there is nothing wrong with fancying Frodo. I really don't, but a lot of people here do and it certainly isn't weird.

Hooray! I'm back and more people have posted! Huzzah!
Oh my gosh ForeverFrodo, I know what you mean. Frodo is a thousand times more fanciable than Brad Pitt (eew). And what you said about having to be careful about telling people you're in love with Frodo......... that's what I'm saying. It's really sad that other people out there persecute Frodo lovers. *shakes head sadly* But it's comforting to find here that other people love him. :)
