How did LotR come into your life?
This is how i got into it. My friend had a weekend movie party to watch all the LotR in three nights. it was presidents day weekend. sat sun & mon nights. We watched the Fellowship sat night, TTT sunday night then RotK on Monday night. THE EXTENDED EDITIONS WERE SO COOL!! i loved it so much! i got into it as soon as i saw it! i looked up stuff on the internet all the time and watched them 24/7 w/ my friend @ her house. then i started reading them. LotR was one of the best things that ever happened to me! hehehe even though i might sound a little crazy.
LotR ROX! that's how i found this sight.
hehehe
how did it happen to you?

Well my friends went crazy over it when ROTK came out, I got more interested and wanted to see the movie, but my parents said I had to read the book first... SO I read all three in a week so I could see the movie, but then I had to wait for my other sister so we could all watch it together, she took 6 months! So eventually I got to see it and have been obsessed with it ever since.

At first when it came out I was like: Oh great. Some stupid movie about a stupid ring. how dumb can you get? but my friends said it was the best thing EVER and so I became more interseted, and then I saw the movies. I was becoming obsessed. I went online and discovered LOTS of lotr sites and learned alot about the story and the genious behind the story, Tolkien himself. I have been obsessed ever sense and am in the process of reading the books.

My dad read The Hobbit to me when I was about...6 years old, I think. lol. Maybe I'm sort of a Tolkien-reading child prodigy?

My mother introduced me to LOTR. Whoo! Three cheers for my mom!
She tried to get me to read FOTR when I was like 6, but I didn't have the patience to read it but, then the movie came out and then I decided "Hey! These books and movies look cool! Mom I'll take that book now!"

The first time I watch FOTR I was really scared...I was only 8 So it took me a while to get into it. I'm one of the people who read LOTR after the films came out...*ducks thrown objects*

The second one suits me well. I was pretty scared when I heard of Nazgul's screams but as I watched more of it I like them too. Story seemed interesting since I was roleplaying with my friends in the high school before.

When the first movie came out, I went with my parents to watch it. And of course I loved it! So I asked my mom if she had the book and she said yeah and gave it to me to read. So then I totally became hooked and asked for the others to read too. And when the other two movies came out, well I just had to see them.

*Shields eyes* Ahhh....must...not....read...
Just kidding, Haldir Though I might have a hard time forgiving you for that one!
Well, when I was 11 my cousin was absolutely LotR crazy, and my mom didn't want to let me see it but my cousin practically begged her. So I saw it, and I was pretty impressed, and I saw TTT in the same weekend, but when I discovered RotK wasn't out for another year I decided I needed to try and read those books again. I'd tried when I was 7 or 8 but I got really bogged down. It did take me a while to get into them, however - it was by no means love at first sight.
