I was just wondering ... the Swords that the Uruks use during the Battle of Helm's Deep ... like the one that killed Haldir *cries a river* ... what are those called? Are they simply called "Orc Swords" or......?

og gosh, there was a name for them...but i can't remember...grr! Because they aren't swords...they're more like...scythes almost. If you have EE of TTT check the WETA part, it might tell you there*wanders off to see if she can find the name*

I don't remember either-I got a book from the library awhile back, "Weapons and Warfare of Middle-earth". It would probably tell what they're called. I'll try to remember to check it out next time I'm at the library.

Well, I got the book and in most of the descriptions it just called them swords. It uses the word "falchion" for the Uruk-hai swords, and it uses "scimitar" once for Mordor orc swords.

the short sword is the one the regular Uruk-Hai use they're long and have a small spike at the end. The Long sword is what the white faced Uruk-Hai use. They're longer but with a spike on both sides at the end
