101, One day during filming, Liv Tyler left a pair of her elven ears on the dash of her car, when she returned that afternoon, they had melted together, and to the dash.

102, In the scene where Saruman summons the storm over Cahadhras, he hold his arms out, as the camera pans around, you can see the heavy bandaging over his finger that he'd jammed in a door.

103, The same above mentioned injury caused Christopher Lee to wield his staff single handed when he beat Gandalf around on the top of Orthanc.

104, Christopher Lee once expressed his desire to play the part of Gandalf to Tolkien himself, the Professor gave him his blessing to do so! (I think he got darn close!)

109. When Gollum is thrashing about in the river trying to catch a fish, that was filmed mid-winter, and they had to melt the snow before they filmed. The water was freezing.

115. (I'm sure everyone knows this) Gandalf hitting his head on the ceiling was not actually planned, Ian McKellan really hit his head. PJ liked the effect and how well Ian acted through it....so he kept it.

98. I've heard...I'm not sure it's true, but I heard that the sound of the Fell Beast was made by Fran Walsh when she had a cold. or something along that line.

118. The Fell Beast's screech was actually a donkey's roar (and some other animals I think. But mainly donkey.)

119. Sir Ian McKellan based Gandalf the Grey's accent upon Tolkien's.

120. I know it's been said before, but the scene where Aragorn kicks the helmet. The one that made the final cut (i.e. what you see in the film) is the actual one when he breaks his toes. It was so realistic (obviously :P ) that they used it.

121. During the scenes when Aragorn, Legolas and Gimli are running through Rohan, Viggo had broken toes, Orlando had broken ribs and John Rhys-Davies' stunt double had injured his knee. So they were known as the walking wounded (I think).

122. (I can't believe this one hasn't been mentioned). Andy Serkis had to drink a mixture they called "Gollum Juice" (honey, lemon and ginger) as his throat got so sore while doing Gollum's voice.

123. Andy Serkis was the voice of The Ring as well as The Witch King of Angmar. They recorded his voice on about 60 levels and then complied them to make the echoing in "nothingness" effect

124. When they were filming Two Towers, at the scene where Sam and Frodo are talking by the river and Frodo chastises Sam, when Sean Astin said, "Its the Ring", there was an explosion. The New Zealand Army was having ammo practice. They said that it was almost like it was on cue...
