How they treat the male Elves! I mean, HOW hard is it to understand that just because a male has long hair, doesn't mean that they're prissy or whatever. I hear it often from people who enjoy LOTR bashing: "Oh yeah dude, Elrond and Legolas are so gay and girly. I can't believe that some dorks actually like those guys!" Grrr! It annoys me to no end!  So, what are your thoughts on this?

That ticks me off so much, especiallly when people talk about Legolas being girly. Why? Because he's quiet, thoughtful, has long hair, and isn't all rugged like Aragorn? That's pretty much an elf thing. Rawr, ignorant people. I will eat them all.

Lol, so true. It's mostly guys who do all the making fun of. Not really the girls, cause they're too busy drooling over them.

Yay! Past matters not - I am glad that you see the elves' coolness. 
Hmm...yeah, it does seem like guys make fun of elves the most, though some of my friends' annoyance with Legolas fangirls spills over to the object of their attention.

Yeah, I hear Elf-bashing quite a LOT. And also that "LOTR is boring".  Even my own mother has called Legolas a "pretty boy".

It really annoys me how some non-ringers talk about male elves. That shows that they have no idea about LotR AT ALL. Well, it's not what bothers me most about non-ringers, but it does annoy me quite a lot. I do agree with what you say about Legolas' clothes, Aerlinn. But still he does not look girly. Yeah, some people are just sooo stupid. |

*shrug* Well, you have to take into consideration that Elvish clothing is meant to be light and comfortable. Not heavy and a burden to wear. |

Yeah, that bothers me as well! I mean, you've never read the books, you've never payed attention in the movies, you have NO BASIS to go with your "male elves are gay" theory!! I hate it when people do that! |

Yeah, I agree with what you say Sarien. But still, I also agree with Aerlinn that his dress looks sort of girly.. not like really girly, but sort of. But as I said, I don't think any male elf looks like a girl. |

What I hate is when they say "LotR is dumb" or "LotR is overrated" when they've NEVER READ THE BOOKS OR WATCHED THE MOVIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I absolutely detest it when people do that. They have no basis on which to say that except that they think people make too much of it. And I also hate it when people say that the male elves are gay.

I hate it when it when people bash LotR, most of the people who do have never watch the movie or read the book. Oh, Legolas' 'dress' is really a cloak/robe that clips on a shoulder instead of the middle. Kind of like the black one Elrond where's in the RotK. |

Me too! And I also hate it when they say "The movies are AWESOME, but the books are boring and/or suck." Excuse me?? If it weren't for the "boring" books you wouldn't have the AWESOME movies! Most people who say that have absolutely no respect for what Tolkien did.

What annoys me is that PJ gave them long hair... This guy at my fencing club looks exactly how I imagined a Tolkien elf while reading the books. His hair and everything... I would post a picture, but he hasn't come in ages. |
