I was lucky enough to be able to attend the LotR symphony. It was awesome!
I think I liked the Bridge of Khazad-dûm best and the woman they had to sing Gollum's Song and Into The West was just amazing.
I wish I had brought my camera too because they had life size realistic figures of both the main Uruk-kai from FotR and a Nazgúl, plus Aragorn and Eowyn's swords on display.
It was quite an experience, full of nostalgia and emotion.
Anyone else had the privelage of being able to go to a Lord of the Ring symphony before?

Wow, that sounds great. Now I want to go, hehe It's a pretty neat idea to have huge concerts with movie soundtracks. I've only seen it once here and it was an outdoor concert - and I didn't go.

Aw, an out door contest would be neat. If you ever get the opportunity again, it's definently worth it.

This is amazing! I didn't even know such symphonies existed. Just the other day I was thinking..."Wouldn't it be wonderful if symphonies performed live concerts of just the LotR music? Like straight through the whole soundtrack? It would be an experience too incredible for words to describe..."
And such a thing actually exists!

Indeed it does. They didn't play every single song, but they did the majority of all three.

Man, I am SO jealous of you!
That just sounds so amazing. Gah. I wish I had an opportunity to see that. WHAT an experience. I bet it was crazy epic.
If ever I get the chance to see something like that, I'll be there. ESPECIALLY if it's LOTR!
You lucky duck..baaahh.

Alright, I'll look out for something similar in the future. I'm not too familiar with classical music, I mean I listen to it all the time in movies but never really without the motion pictures. We have a series of concerts every Thursday to sort of introduce people like me to classical music. I might go there...
The LotR concert was like two years ago, they might not do it again until the Hobbit comes out or at another LotR-y event...
Oh and on the outdoor concert topic... the problem is that the weather is so unpredictable here (usually on the bad side).

I know it's travelling around.
It was a great experience. VERY nostalgic.

I believe it's all the same. The woman listed as the singer is the one I saw. She was fantastic and she wore this really pretty lilac dress that looked like something Arwen might have worn.

Thanks a lot for the link FRODOFAN. I hope they return to Europe once more so that I can attend the LotR symphony, too. You're sooo lucky to have been there!!
