Haha. Lol Well, I think some of that is ok. So long as we don't go over board with it. ;)

I wouldn't call myself a collector by any stretch, most of the books, games and films I bought to use and enjoy. I did have a fair bit of merch, but apart from the EEs, I don't have a beautiful matching set of books or anything like that. I only recently replaced my copy of the Hobbit, because my original one was my Dad's & flies & Spiders kept falling out :P

I took them down to re-decorate, but I kept all my old Legolas posters (there's literally zillions), when I buy my own house I'm determined to frame them and hang them in my toilet or somewhere weird like that :)

Still there's sometimes when it strikes me that with a job, I now have a healthy bank account and can afford to buy all the crap I wanted when I was a rabid 12 year old, my flawed logic for buying it is because my younger self would have been disappointed if I didn't :teehee: (My younger self seems distinctly Gollum like sometimes)

Case in point: I just bought this bad boy on E-Bay

I can understand that, I'm the same way at times :-D . And I agree, I personally don't see any problem with it. Cool figure, I have quite a few that when I get my own place I plan on having a room that I can display them. I got some more pics coming soon including a picture that my sister drew for me and gave me for a Christmas present.

Guess who arrived today....

I took him out of his box after two seconds, and then gave him a proper herringbone braid. Then I sorted his hair out, pulling his side braids back and made his clothes fit. He's so pretty!

That is really cool!

I have a few soundtracks and books that I will post later that I recently got.

This is a drawing my sister did and had framed for me. The frame that she bought is awesome since it looks similar to his horn and the drawing it self is amazing in my opinion!

My brother-in-law and I have been working on this custom made display case for months. We finally finished it! We based it off this picture.

Just awesome, CB! :-D

The only thing I own that could be vaguely considered to be Middle-earthy is what Wiki describes as a "ball-and-chain flail, [a short] weapon consisting of a wooden haft connected by chain ... to one or more roughly spherical striking ends [with spikes] … also referred to as a chain mace."

I bought it at a souvenir stand when visiting the Veste Coburg, or Coburg Fortress, in the city of the same name in northern Bavaria. The chain is actual iron (tested it with a magnet), and while the two striking spheres (with nine spikes each) are not magnetic, they are certainly hefty enough (perhaps solid hardwood?) to do serious to deadly damage with a strike to the head. Not a toy by any means. Probably an Orc-weapon? Though the longer two-handed flails were known as a peasant’s weapon, so maybe the Hobbits also used them? :hide:

Thanks Gandolorin! I got the idea for it based off of this picture.

Sounds like a really cool weapon! If you want, post a picture of it on this thread sometime.

Ah, the Witch-king's thingy at the Battle of the Pelennor Fields (grotesquely exaggerated by PJ in the movie). Short handle and chain fit the bill, but there are two of the spherical striking ends with spikes, attached by two chains, and the spheres are slightly smaller than tennis balls.
