If you had been born in Tolkien's Middle Earth, and your parents were either Elvish, Numenorian, or Gondorian, what would your name have been? This must be the REAL translation of your name, not from some random generator. You can just do your first name and middle name, or you could add your surname too. Besides trying the elvish names at A-U, try these two sites: http://home.tiscali.cz:8080/~cb046086/names.html (my favorite) and http://councilofelrond.com/modules.php?op=modload&name=Semantics&file=index By the way, if you can't find your name on the sites, Council of Elrond (the last link I give) has a thing where you can submit your name to be translated for you Mine would have been: Erúve Oath of or consecrated to God Ivreniel of crystal Caran (my surname) red So I'm Erúve Ivreniel Caran (because my last name means red ) |

According to A-U my elvish name is Cuilwen, but the seccond website s Cuilánie. I think the last is the best translation, because my name (Eva) means life giver and Cuilwen means something like life. I'm always using 'Cuilwen' because that was the first translation I found and I like it. |

My name is rather...monotonous, to say the least. You see, my first name means "grace", and my middle name is Grace. So, according to the first site, I am: Eruanne Eruanna or Eruanna Almare or Almare Eruanna or Almare Almare ![]() As for my last name...it's comprised of at least two meanings. Let me look it up. Sardion or Ondion, likely. So I guess my full name is Eruanne Almare Ondion. ![]() |

This is best I can tell: véasse ár-sárie nacilion Femine of andros Sea of Bitterness Son of the Victor/Victorious Now I bounced back and forth so many times from the Quenya and Sindarin...I could be all messed up... Nerwen /NÃssë/Adaniel Meldamelissë/Sárairë Ionnellui This was the result from The Council of Elrond site ![]() (not to metion depending on the source my middle name means sea of bitterness/rebellious/bitter maiden/beloved...GAH!!!) I really like some of the names I saw on this thread! They are great. Some of mine look a bit unweildy...so I am happy wiht my screen name. Luthien is actually my fiance's nick name for me, and after he plugged my name into some "on line elvish name generation" and it poped up "luthien of dothorion" I was stuck... Elenduiel is also based on an old pet name from my dad...goofy I know, but easy for me to remeber ![]() |
