Post subject:  Calling All Fans...

Okay, so my English teacher has assigned a research paper that's due in two weeks, and it can be about whatever we choose. Naturally, I chose something I know a good deal about: Ringers. I'm going to be dividing it up into History, Hobbies (like costuming), and Conventions. Here's my only problem: I have to have some real, concrete information to prove that I didn't just make it all up (being a research paper and all). Does anyone know of any good books or websites explaining any of these things? Wikipedia is good for some things, but it's not the most reliable. I especially need stuff explaining conventions (such as RingCon) and costuming (like a "how to make your own costume" site or something). Any and all help would be greatly appreciated!

Oh, and if anyone here is 18 or older and isn't too opposed to giving out information, we also have to interview someone related to the topic (i.e.- if I was doing baseball, I'd interview a baseball player; I'm doing LOTR fans, so I need a Ringer). My teacher required that they be 18 or older, and we have to give a brief biography on them as well as explaining what they do in relation to the topic. I won't be asking anything too personal like "What was your mother's maiden name?" or "What's your Social Security number?", but if you're not comfortable giving out basic things like name, age, and where you were born, this probably isn't for you. Anyone who would be willing to be interviewed, please pm me!

Lol I checked with my teacher today, and she said that I could use Ringers: Lord of the Fans. At the beginning of the year she thought I was kinda strange, and she still does, but at least she's come to expect this kind of thing from me. At the begining of the year we had to write an essay on a kind of relationship (Mother-Daughter, Husband-Wife, etc), and I chose "Ringbearer-Ring of Power". Then toward the middle of the year we read The Hobbit in class, and I insisted on writing my name in elvish on all of the papers. So when I told her today that I was doing my research paper on Ringers, she just smiled and nodded. :D
