I just hate them. There seem to be so much of that stuff, Lord of the Weed is just one of them. I would never watch them, it makes me so angry to see that there are always people who try to mess around really great movies! It clearly shows that they haven't understood it.

Most of the parodies aren't really funny. I watched Lord of the Weed, but it was so different that I couldn't really connect it to LotR anymore. I also dislike LotR parodies though I've read some of them like the Sellamillion (actually I read it in the German version called das Stiehlnemillion) just to know what different parodies exist. |

ahh! i know! they just tick me off! and they're not even funny! it's like they have no respect for tolkin or lord of the rings!!!!!!! they're sooooooo annoying! |

I like intelligent humor--if they poke friendly fun while respecting the ingenious of Tolkein's work that's ok. But sometimes they have absolutely no respect for LotR!!!

I pretty much agree with what's been said already. Some Lord of the Rings parodies that I've come across have been VERY funny, especially when they've been made by fans of Tolkien, and not people thinking of smutty/ridiculous jokes when they don't know anything about it. I think that parody can often be a nice way to pay homage to something as long as it's done in a respectful way. |

exactly right ... i hate it when peopel to it because they hate LotR and they try to ruin it.. its stupid and pointless |

I actually don't mind them. There are lots of people who LOVE LotR who parody it. But, (correct me if I'm wrong) I don't think they'll parody it if they hate it. It's just poking a bit of fun, I don't think they always mean to show complete disrespect to LotR. Lots of great movies get parodied, it doesn't always mean that the parody-makers want to insult it.  And, besides, I found some of them funny.

And, besides, I found some of them funny. I toatally agree with both because who here has not written comedic LOTR fan-fiction? That is a sort of parody. That doesn't mean we hate it. It just means that it is possible to make it funny. But then again people go ot far with that I know a friend of mine thought Legolas was gay after the faiting and the shock I went into a twenty minute lecture. That's how I deal with things t like that try to present a rebutle. Some are funny. Like the captions in the humor section now who has not read those? I think those are funny! Kind of odd but funny. I make make smart *bleep* comments while I'm watching the movie but I'm just a big big a LOTR fan as everyone else! |
