There was a hole in the ground and this hole was known to be the Hole of Creation. No one, not even the great rulers of Valinor, could see what was beyond the darkness of it's depth. It was a microphone. Yes, the microphone that would amplify anything that came close to it, changing it into the Music of Ainur.

If a coin would fall into the hole, it would fall on the mic and sound a melody so damaging, that all creatures would have coins instead of eyes. If a glass of wine would be spilled down the hole, all waters would change into wine. Any disturbance would unsettle all that was long ago settled. All would change and it would be impossible to reverse this.

And so it happened, that when Eru was in the process of creating a big set of people, scheduled to be shipped to future Gondor, Melkor was in the vicinity of the Hole of Creation. He had some particularly bad hamburgers for lunch, and he was feeling really sick. It so happened that he needed to relief himself, and looking for a toilet he spotted only this hole. He knew not what it was, and if he did, he would stay away from it. It could cause changes so big, that he might loose his powers.

But he did not know of the powers of this hole in the ground. He put his pants down and he done what needed to be done right down the hole. A tone of the Music so horrible was sounded, that it destroyed the beautiful new order of Men. It crippled them and they became midgets, horrible creatures know as Hobbits.
