Ok, I know this is a long profile. I wrote this for another site, and I really liked it. This is the profile of a girl for a LOST rpg.

Full Name: Joelle Anita Martin
Age: 17 (June 23, 1988)
Occupation: student in high school
Belongings: She brought a suitcase of clothes and very few other things on the plane. When they crashed, she salvaged her journal, a small case of writing utensils, and the suitcase. However, most of the clothes were unusable, only an outfit or two could be used again, and nothing else was left.
Appearance: Joelle is a typical 17 year old, for the most part. She is short, though, at about 5'4". She is very slender, but not sickeningly skinny. She has some muscle on her bones, from years of playing sports. She weighs about 115 pounds, for anyone who cares.
Her hair is about shoulder length, and it's naturally curly, not a tight curl though. It is often wavy, and she doesn't care which way it looks. She will either wear it in a ponytail or just down. The color is between a medium and a dark brown. Her eyes are brown as well, a lightish brown. Because of her mixed race, her skin is not perfectly white, nor perfectly hispanic. It is more of a tanned look, that many people envy, not realizing that it's natural.
Typically she would wear gray or white t-shirts, but she enjoys wearing color as well. However, on the island, all she has are gray and white t-shirts, with mainly black pants or blue jeans. She prefers wearing sneakers, and that's all she has on the island.
Personality: Joelle is typically an outgoing person, though she knows when to back off and stay in the background. She prefers to allow herself to get to know the situation before barging in. She mainly does this because she knows what will happen if she exerts her personality too quickly. She tends to use sarcasm a lot, and though most people don't mind, it can be a little intimidating when you first meet her.
Despite her sarcasm, however, Joelle is a very sweet person. She hates people who discriminate against others, and tries her best to be fair and kind to all. She loves helping others, but knows when to let them take the wheel. She wants the best for others, but she also wants the best for herself.
Of course, considering she is a teenager, she has some teen qualities. She sometimes sees the 'dumb' in people before the good. Of course, once she gets to know them, that goes away. She also has a tendency to want to do everything for herself, creating a somewhat stubborn side. This sort of stems from having to do what a social worker says all the time. Joelle also loves to be social. She loves to hang with people, mostly of her own age, and just have fun, no matter what happens.
Joelle also loves the arts. She loves acting, singing, and creative writing especially. She takes a journal everywhere, as well as a pack of pens and pencils. In Australia, she bought a new journal, so it was empty when they crashed. She wants to one day write a book about their adventures.
Besides her creative side, Joelle also has a tough side. She plays several sports, including soccer, hockey, and track. She loves to run, and is quite good at it. In soccer and hockey, she plays goalie, and that requires a tough-ness. She also won't give up on things that are important to her, even if they're difficult. (some would call that stubbornness)
Oh, and Joelle also has an extremely photographic memory. That means that she can take pictures of anything she wants, and remember it for just about forever.
All in all, Joelle has a very mixed personality. But that sort of goes well in her life.
Brief Family description:
Father: Jacques Martin. A french-canadian man who currently lives in a small town in Quebec, Canada. He works as a ice rink manager, taking care of the small private ice rink he owns. As skating is popular in Canada, he makes a good living. This is what sparked Joelle's interest in hockey. He is semi-tall, at 5'11". He has light skin, and light brown hair.
Mother: Maria Ortega. A Puerto rican woman who currently lives in a town in Puerto Rico. She met Jacques when they were in college. They fell in love, married, had Joelle, and soon got divorced. She works in a small dress shop, sewing beautiful dresses. She doesn't make a great living, but no one really does in PR. She, like most PRs, has dark tan skin, and black curly hair.
Guardian: Layna Stephens. An American woman who currently lives in a small town in New York (state). She was a friend of Jacques and Maria in college, and was chosen to take care of Joelle when they divorced. She works as a substitute teacher in an elementary school, where she makes enough money to get them by with a little left over. She and Joelle are more like friends than 'parent and child', and they like to hang out and have fun. She has light red hair, that is long and straight. She isn't very tall, at 5'6". (this makes Joelle feel better)
Biography: Joelle was born to Jacques Martin and Maria Ortega (than married) on June 23, 1988. She was born in a small town in New York state. She was a small baby, but she was healthy, and that was all that mattered.
Her parents, however, were not 'healthy'. They had gotten married too soon, and they paid for it. They divorced when Joelle was a tiny baby. The trouble started, though, when they both wanted to move back to their home country.
It was then that Christa (Joelle's new social worker) stepped in. She and the parents agreed that it would be inconvienent, and bad for Joelle if she had to constantly move back and forth. So, they decided to choose someone else to take care of their daughter during the main part of the year. That someone was Layna Stephens, a friend from college. Layna, who had never wanted to get married, but had always wanted a kid, readily agreed. She took in the baby, and promised to raise her right.
From that time on, Joelle spent most of her time in her small town of Naples, NY. On vacations, and during the summer, she visited and stayed with her parents. Through these visits, she became fluent in French and Spanish. She also learned about different countries, and got to spend time with her beloved parents.
In school, Joelle was very happy. She had several close friends, and a number of other, not so close, friends. She was somewhat popular, not because of her looks, but because of her friendliness and personality. She also did well in school, having a constant 'A' average throughout.
Joelle never really got into boys, not until she was in at least 9th grade. But even then, she didn't really fall into the trend of constantly crushing on or going out with guys. She was waiting for the right one, and he hadn't come yet.
During high school, she began indulging in her talents. She was in the band and chorus, and acted in the school musicals. She also took creative writing classes, learning how to use her talent to fulfill her potential.
Throughout her life, her social worker was constantly on her case. Joelle thought that she would go away eventually, but she never did. Christa always had ways for Joelle to improve, but Joelle rarely listened, because she thought that she was old enough to make her own decisions.
That is, until Christa suggested a trip to Australia. Joelle really didn't want to go, but Christa insisted, and Layna thought that it would be good for Joelle. And so, Joelle went off to a summer trip to Australia. It wasn't great, and she couldn't wait to get back home.
As you can guess, the trip home was delayed, by a lot. On the way home, Oceanic Flight 815 crashed, and Joelle didn't get to go back home yet.
And this is where the story starts. Joelle is barely 17, and going to be a senior in high school, if she ever gets back...[/b]
