(I've already posted one character on here, but since I have numerous characters, I thought I'd post the next one....lol)

My name is Rumour, I have no other. But to tell you how I got this name, I must tell you of my past..... I am one of the few Shapeshifters left, and probably the only female Shapeshifter, since most have been killed off. I believe that is what happened to my parents, but I don't know for sure. The first memory I have is of being in a village, seeing things through the eyes of a kitten, hiding my true form, which I still do not know.
The village was small, and people lived by rumors. A rumor went around of a 'demon-child', as I grew up, and I soon realized that they spoke of me. I had no name at the time, so I took the name 'Rumour' as my own. Now that is what I am and who I am. I lived by my wits and abilities, always running and hiding.
There was only one that I told who I was, a small boy, my own age. His name was Krin, and he had dark hair and the darkest eyes anyone has ever seen. Krin would have died for me, even though he was so young. I would've done the same for him, but had no chance.
One day, I went into a tavern, hunting for food as the street-children always did. It was full of soldiers, and one caught me by the arm. I started to change, but thought better of it. I was 7 years old at this time, and knew enough to know not to shapeshift in front of anyone other than Krin.
The soldier noticed my oddity, especially my flat, black eyes, so reptilian in nature. He snarled at me, his face turning hideous and red with anger. The soldier raised his sword to, most likely, chop my hand off, but was intercepted by Krin.
Krin had run in and leapt at the man right as he swung the sword. The blade caught Krin in the chest, striking a horrid blow. I turned and ran while I had the chance, and the soldier threw Krin out the door, like a piece of trash, after me.
I took Krin as far as I could, off into the woods surrounding the village, and tried to heal him. I had no experience in healing, and he died. I could not save him, and so I sat with his body for days. After that, I left the village and went to any town I could, only staying for so long.
As I grew older, I took on the shape of one of my first memories, the slender figure of a woman with pale skin and a smattering of light freckles, long, dark auburn hair, but my eyes remained a flat black, with no whites whatsoever.
I have not loved a single being since Krin died, and I fear I never will. Human emotions are difficult for me, since I am a feral creature, taking the guise of humanity only to save my skin, and even that I am not sure is truly skin, for I have no idea of a Shapeshifter's true form, having seen no others in my life.
Even now I search for them, but know I will not find any... they are gone from the land, just as the First-Breeds are gone - killed ruthlessly for crimes that were not their own..... I am just a rumor, I always have been and always will be.....

Wow Luin. Once again you excel yourself at creating a character with an amazingly dark beginning and fateful past. You rule.

*grins* Thank you, Darrell!!!... It's not much, but I try..... This character wasn't as well thought out as my first and favorite character, Luinnar Bluefire, but I tried to give Rumour a history....

Yes, I have considered writing books... I might, some day.... I'm starting on Luinnar's real, in-depth story.... It might take a while, since I'm still in the first stages and it sounds like a 5th-grader's paper....lol

Cool. You know, you are the worst one to judge your own work. Moste people will never give themselves the credit they deserve.

I have been writing since I was like....five-six years old and I thought my stories stunk then. And I look t them now and I can see how much better mine are than then, but hte ones I write now still seem like they stink.... My mom says that's normal though.

Just keep writing!! That's the most important thing I have herd so far.
