how do you think the name Elfwyn sound?
or is the name Ethelflaed better? which one is better?
do you think elfwyn would sound like a elven name? i don't think it would... i think Ethelflaed sounds more like an elven name!

It might interest you to know (if you didn't already) that Aethelflaed was the name of Alfred the Great's daughter (in what is now Great Britain). Her daughter was named Aelfwyn, so I assume that you do know the history...

Rosemary Sutcliff wrote an excellent historical fiction novel, the Edge of the Sword, about Flaed.

Cheers,
Val

I was just gonna say Aelfwyn would be very Rohirric. Because it would be Anglo-Saxon for Elf Maiden, but it does have an elvish flare to it, certainly 'Middle-Earthish'.

I like Ethelflaed for an Elf's name. Elfwyn sounds like she could be Eowyn's cousin or something! :-D
