--:Past:--
When the First Age had began it’s fall, ‘Illinn Mýlhairiell captured the shadowed heart of Mornen Rhîwion, who in turn stole her love and took her as His own.
Their first child, a she-elf, was born shortly after. She was named Dúlinn – a nightingale – as a direct reverence to the early lineage of Mornens’ bloodline, as she bore distinct purity of the ashen features within the claims of her Fathers’ ancestry.
Mornen often left and fought the many battles of the East, of which he returned Home, to Thargelion, from each. However, by the end of the First Age, ‘Illinn had borne their second child – another she-elf, with the vivid and rare golden-green eyes of her Mothers’ earliest ancestors. Mornen had not returned Home, and war was pressing closer. To her still nameless newborn she entrusted a large locket and chain, in which a brilliant flamed amber stone was set (later identified as The Calm or “Hairomýl”). The moon set, and the light of ‘Illinn Mýlhairiell faded and left Arda for eternity.
When Mornen returned shortly after, he found Dúlinn, and her younger sister, safe in the care of two young maids. He embraced his daughters fondly, and named his second daughter Tuilinn, in respect for her Mother. Each day he thought of his lost Lover, and each day Tuilinn assumed more and more of her Mothers’ beauty.
Tuilinn became fair and grew strong and wise, learned in all the teachings of ancient lore, as well as the tales and training of her Father, who taught her all the sword skills she now possesses. He later gifted his first sword, Thorolanc, to Dúlinn, by right of the elder sibling.
When Tuilinn had recently turned 8 (by mans’ reckoning), she had just returned from her first journey to the Grey Havens (in which to accompany and farewell three of Thargelions’ ladies) when she found her city destroyed under seige of the Black Forces of the East. The city was abandoned – once white, now black and charred. Forgotten.
Alone and afraid, she crumbled in shock. A tall shadowed man, mysteriously of high elven blood, suddenly stood beside her as she knelt in tears.
“Hairomýl?” he muttered coldly.
Fear grasped her, and before she had the time to hide the pendant gleaming on the swaying end of the golden chain around her neck, her hand was crushed beneath the heavy black boot of the inquisitor. Again, the traitor demanded “Hairomýl –annich han im!”. The insatiable ring of cold steel suddenly met her throat, playing threateningly with the rippling golden chain.
At once, by pure luck, an Eastern soldier from the city hall called down to the Man: “Herdir Revuil! Sí!” The dark man turned swiftly to reply, and Tuilinn pulled her hand out and grazed the sword, taking advantage of his distracted state, and ran hard to her home, where she found nothing but her sisters sword, Thorolanc, gleaming helplessly.
Taking the sword, she ran and hid in the wilderness, barely escaping Revuils’ grasp. Through many years of hiding, she learnt the art of Healing and the secrets of The Calm, unlocking an element of power by which she disguised herself as a he-elf, baring the direct resemblance to her Father, Mornen, so that Revuil may never again find her and take The Calm.
--:Present:--
However, when Tuilinn met Aemornion (a mortal man of Gondor), she revealed her true self for fear of losing him forever.
Together, they had twins – The elder, a dunedain boy named Maeran “for good” – and the younger, a pure dark elven son, named Celenen “silver water”, bearing the blue-black eyes of Tuilinns’ father, Mornen. However, Celenen died shortly after birth and his Mother Tuilinn barely survived.
Soon after, Tuilinn set out for the Grey Havens and ultimately the Undying Lands with Maeran, for fear of her past and the safety of their Son. She travelled alone; a she-elf, with blonde hair, deep golden-emerald eyes, silky golden-silver skin – a direct descendant and one of the last Teleri - even the daughter of the Amber Maiden of Thargelion. Rumours grew. Revuil sought her swiftly – he still remembered that eight year old girl from so many years ago.
Within days of this Last Journey, Revuil found her, who once again demanded possession of The Calm, violently. Maeran, still small and young, lay asleep in the tattered cloak settled in the sway of the saddle. Ripped from him, Tuilinn was interrogated and beaten until Maeran woke suddenly, immediately diverting the ruthless the attention of Revuil. In a desperate hope to protect her discovered son, she smashed The Calm, and it was then the life of the Valar left her.
Revuil, however, seemed withdrawn and said mere, slow, cold words. He sheathed his sword with seething malice “..min aníren – ah mbar ego – chebich o ‘uren...”. The she-elf and her child never saw the Broken Man again.
After days rest, she resumed her Journey, though now weary under the weight of mortality. Time passed, and the Mother and Child finally found the peace and glory of the Grey Havens. But the ships would never carry her, and she was fading. Maeran, now almost seven mortal years of age, grew strong and wise even for one so young, learning all ancient lore, language and swordplay as his Mothers’ father taught Her. While dwelling among the elves, she met a young half-elven man, Thurin Dûrêlion, who had sworn to find his lost brother.
Taking Maeran with her, Tuilinn decided to journey with the half-elf: until either he found his brother, or her days ended. [/font]
