Miriel quietly waatched the sun rise as she'd prepared her horse and waited for Meleth and Fearan. She didn't know where they were going, leaving that up to Meleth As Meleth appeared she told her she'd given Fearan herbs for drugging Dernhelm and she could not hide a smile.
"Where are we heading for?" Miiriel asked her, while she mounted Hasufel.

Meleth unfolded a map. "Well," she said slowly, "I believe we'll ride along the southern mountains and enter Mordor from behind. They won't be expecting that. Any idea how long Fearen will be?"

Meleth shook her head. "No, you're mixing things up. The orc troop is the one supposedly threatening Dernhelm's group. Our real threat comes from Mordor."

Meleth grinned very slightly. "Not dangerous at all...if they don't catch us." She looked seriously at Miriel. "That's very important, not to get caught, or - well - it's important." She had seemed about to say something but changed her mind.

Dernhelm woke, he had spent several years building an immunity to sleping drugs...he had learned that those were favorite pranks of Fearen as a child.He saw the others speaking in hushed tones by the fire...He slowly pulled out his long knife and crept up be hind Fearen and pulled it round his neck."Do you really think that the drug would work on me for that long? After all you were the one who helped me build an immunity to drugs like those...even if you weren't aware of it."

Meleth was on her feet before anyone had time to draw breath, with an arrow drawn taut on her bowstring and pointed unwaveringly at Dernhelm's head. She rolled her eyes and cursed under her breath. "If you make one more move, my arrow will pierce your head," she snapped. "I'm sick of you interfering. Move away, and I don't have to shoot you."
