Jumping, Elwen looked towards Aradan, the one who had said that, and frowned slightly. "What?"

"You've been daydreaming."

"Have not." she retorted, folding her arms and resting them on the tabletop.

Handion was looking at the floor now and Turwaithiel sighed.
"Oh Handion, if you like her so much, why don't you go talk to her again!" Handion glared up at her.
"Tis is not so simple." He said.
"It is." Tur protested, but Handion shook his head sorrowfully.
"Beside, she is royalitly." He muttered and Tur added,
"So is Aradan."

"I do say so.." Elwen muttered, voice lowered so no one near could hear her. Sighing, she glanced about the room once again, then looked to her father. "Adar..may I be excused?"

"As long as you come back when the dancing starts, yes." Thranduil responded after a moment's pause, wondering what was bothering his youngest daughter.

"Hannon le.." she murmured, standing and walking out of the room, thankfully avoiding notice by most of the elves gathered. Once out of the banquet hall, she breathed a quiet sigh of relief, glad for the peace, and then proceeded to walk outside, oblivious to the cold wind that blew.

Tur saw as Elwen left and whipsered to Handion,
"This is your chance, mellon!" Handion shook his head and replied,
"She probably wants to be by herself."
"Oh pish-posh!" Tur said, sounding like a old lady but her eyes twikled. "Go, Handion, or I'll go myself and-"
"Okay, okay! Calm down!" Handion stood and walked towards the outside door, cursing at Turwaithiel as he walked.

Outside, Elwen gratefully breathed in the cold night air, glad of the change from the hot atmosphere(to her, it seemed hot) inside. Also, it was much easier to think out here, with no loud buzz of conversation to deal with. Of course, that meant she had to time to think about what was bothering her.

What is wrong with me tonight? Overreacting over small things, unable to concentrate on simple conversation..daydreaming..dwelling on someone you just met..

However, before she could follow these thoughts through to any conclusion, footsteps nearby broke her out of her reverie, and she turned towards the sound silently.

Handion blushed at her sudden movement and said akwardly,
"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to scare you, M'lady."

Relaxing visibly, Elwen managed a small smile. "There is nothing to apologize for..I was just startled. I didn't think anyone would follow me out here."

Elwen smiled once again, then shivered involuntarily as a blast of cold wind blew by suddenly. That was to be expected at that time of year, however..

Handion quietly took off his top jacket that covered his tunic and handed it to Elwen.
"It's much to cold out here in only a dress."

Elwen smiled at this act of kindness and took the offered jacket, and threw it about her shoulders. "Hannon le.."

Handion nodded and looked around, the dark sky filled with many stars glittering around the bright moon. Handion breathed a relaxed sigh and saw his own breathe come out in front of him. He leaned against the railing and stilling looking up at the stars, said, "A friend told me that the stars where a sign of love and peace...they where like "Reminders" of even during times of hate and war, that even if only one star was out that night, peace and love still over-powered the darkness and hate." He looked down, embaressed for telling Elwen such a stupid story that he believed in.

"I've heard the same thing many times.." Elwen murmured, diverting her gaze to the night sky. "And I believe that's the honest truth." she added quietly, more as if she were speaking her thoughts.
