Risestel walked over to a ledge, and peered out in deep thought, before giving a sigh and turning to the group. "Okay. For one thing, how are we going to convert elves to attack Rivendell? It seems like a lost cause. It doesn't seem like elves are susceptible to bribery. So we threaten them? Join or death? That wouldn't go unnoticed for long, so we eould have to strike very soon after the first few elves. And if we did happen to get elves, how many are we thinking of?"

She paused.

"For the second thing, are we going to surround Rivendell and make sure no one gets in or out until they start to run out of resources or are we going to circle around and enclose on them?"

"Circle around and enclose on them," Smeag stated, "and, since no one appears to have gotten my last comment about converting the elves, I shall reexplain. With the Lord of the Rings, Sauron, dark riders would stab their victims with Mithril blades and convert them again their will. We just have to do likewise."

Smeag now moved the map over and wrote down a small chart consisting of: "North, West, East, South, and the Library".

"Alright," Smeag continued, "Who wants to hit where?"

School ate my life. *sigh*

"Ok, it appears that Freya is going to the East," Smeag said aloud as she added Freya to the list.

Freya slips silently through the trees, followed closely by Morndelos. Every now and again she pauses and listens for other elves. After a while she nears an open clearing. Hearing the lighthearted laughter of that kind, she slips closer towards the sound.
Earlyer in the day she had sharpened the edges of her pan and rubbed an oderless, colorless substance mixed with powdered mithril on the edges. This substance, when introduced through a cut along with mithril, causes the injured party to obey the will of the maker of the substance or another member of the maker's cause.
A half-dozen elves are gathered around a small cooking fire. Freya puts on a limp and signals Morndelos to stay back in the shadows until she calls. Then she hobbles into the camp.
The elves, though startled by their unexpected guest, are still gracious. They kindly ask what happened.
"I tripped over an exposed root back there, and I fear I may have sprained my ankle. Could you perhaps give me some food? I lost mine this morning to a hungry dog."
She makes as if to hand her pan to the nearest elf, but as soon as the elf's hand touches the sharpened edge, she grips the pan harder and slices through the startled elf's palm. Then Freya signals for Morndelos and they quickly gain four more elves for the cause. Soon, because the injured elves fight their former friends, all six elves are either unconsious or converted.
Slingng one of the unconsious elves over her shoulder Freya heads back the way she came, motioning for the others to follow.
