Arinae nodded her head for a moment before replying, her tone weary despite her best efforts to hold it firm. "Aye, I too feel there is something foreboding... but in such a state as we all are in, it would not be wise to try and scout out the situation when awareness is at such a low.."

Arinae closed her eyes for a moment and bowed her head. Rest was all she wanted, yet she knew there was much more to be done, and many more things to be looked after, but for now she placed her elbows on her knees and rested her head against her palms.

"I can ask for the few scouts remaining in the camp to explore if any danger lies within the caves, though it would be a risk..." she finally murmured, sitting straight again as she glanced toward the ominous caves.

"If we open up the caves for a scout or two we might unleash our own doom unprepared milady" Aemornion spoke through a weary voice as his glance also strayed towards them. He remained silent then for a moment sunk in thought. With a sigh he spoke once again.

"We must see to it that the doors do not open by any other force then our own. I would advise that we seal at once firmly the gates from outside. We will most likely stirr anything that is inside of them with the pounding of hammers and while putting the blockades against the gate, but I hope that way we will get enough time to regroup our forces and have them rested in case there will be need for a new battle unlooked for" with those words he forced himself to stand up to his feet. He frowned as he noticed his helmet was filled with water from the ever pouring rain like a bucket. With a swift mutter to himself, an obvious curse, he emptied the helmet and set it back across his head with a heavy sigh while his dark and worry filled eyes strained towards the gloom of the gates

Arinae nodded to his words, knowing his experiance was far greater than that of her own, the realization that she had much still to learn coming to her once again.

"Then I shall see what able men are available to accomplish the task, and what they may have to work with..." she murmured as she stirred from her position, choosing not to make use of her right arm for the sake of wear and tear as she picked up her helmet and set off at careful pace toward the Hornburg, where most had gone to care for the injured, though several still remained outside the fortress. Her glance wantonly strayed to view the fallen and injured, but she averted it and looked forward, knowing she had a task to do.

Jax herd the two talking, but he wasn't sure what they were planning.
"If anyone is to go into the cave I request I be one." Jax voluntered.

"Nay Jax!" Aemornion turned around and spoke towards him but with a lowered and friendly tone "I will not let one man enter the cave until we know what lies behind those doors or until our entire force has returned to strength. It would be folly to open up our own doom in our eagerness to learn what lies behind" he then let out a sigh and turned his face towards the darkening door.

The rain lessend somewhat but still the clouds streaked the sky. The darkness of the night was drawing in swift and almost menecing. "How I wish my instincts lead me in a false way for once" he murmured to himself under the breath.

"How else are we to find out what is in there?" Jax asked.

"We will soon enough, but not this instant!" Aemornion replied with a weary voice "I certainly do not expect to find a host of long forgotten Numenorians inside or Eorl the Young" the voice fell to a murmur with a slightly edged tone feeling the wearyness finally taking its toll.

After forcing it away he looked at Jax once again "What would you advise to do?" Aemornion asked

"I would set traps at the entrance and prepair balista set aiming at the entrance with flaming arrows." Jax answered. "Anything we can."

"And who will govern all those traps at once? Who will fire the arrows?! You, alone!? Or a few more others?" Aemornion stepped up to Jax, a clear point of frustration managed to take toll of him as he raised his voice more then intended.

"There might be nobody inside, but also there might be tens of them, houndreds, if not even thousands!" he continued with a slight glimmer of some long forsaken flame in his eyes "Would I unleash such a threat against our men who barely made it alive through the last battle? I think not! I am not the one in charge of the final decision but one thing is certain, I will not lead my men into certain death becouse a soul or two are eager to fight becouse they have nothing else to loose!"

his voice fell to a grumbling tone and with that he stormed off towards the main gate to help throw out the orc filth that was littering the streets and the paths.

"I can fix a hundred balista that will all be fired with the pull of a single string by a single man." Jax replied calmly.

No sooner had Arinae stepped within the Hornburg, when she was confronted by a messanger scout from camp, his breath coming hard from a swift ride. Furrowing her brows, she turned as he addressed her.

"Milady... I'm afraid I have disheartening news..." he took in a deep breath before continuing, steadying his voice. "Northeast of here, there is an army of the enemy, not many more than a few hill's distance away. I did not count the number, for I turned and came as swift as I could."

Arinae nodded slowly, not sure if she could quite handle this new developement. She rubbed a hand over her face and released a heavy sigh, only managing a weary murmur. "Alright... inform the camp to move in... I want the wounded to be brought to the safety of Hornburg. If the enemy is as close as you say it is, then we shall have no time to have them escorted to Edoras..."

Turning slightly, she addressed a craftsman she had called over, who had come from one of the villages seeking refuge. "I'll need you to take whatever resource you can find, along with several able bodied men, and if needed, those in camp will bring further supplies, to close off more securely the entrance to the caves. It is suspected something lays deep in waiting within, and we need to ensure we can at least buy some time..."

Arinae inclined her head slightly as the man nodded in understanding and rushed away. Releasing another sigh, Arinae clasped her hands behind her back and stared dully out the window she had been standing near. "What shall we do, if they come upon us, and those who are surely within the caves come forth... we shall be crushed..." she murmured under her breath, her words spoken to herself alone. Dropping her face into her hands, she breathed deeply in order to gather her senses and composure.

(Ok thought it's time to finaly post)

Rhayader woke to find himself on a streacher being carried away from the tents. He looked up at the person at the head of the streacher.
"What.. What's going on?"
"Orders my Lord. We are to take all the wounded to the Hornburg. Aparently the threats continue."
Rhayader sighed nd let his head fall. Where was Tindomerel?
The party of wounded were brought inside and Rhayader grimaced at the sight of the many wounded men sat against the battered walls. It had indeed been a bloody day for men. The streacher was taken inside the great hall and set down on a table.
"Appologies for the uncomfortable conditions my lord, we are very cramped in here."
Rhayader nodded and watched them leave. After a while of watching many men coming in he eventually sat up with a sigh and spun around so his legs dangeled over the edge of the table.
"Lets see how well healed I am."
He softly jumped down and his legs gave way straight away. A healer ran over to him and tried to help him up but Rhayader waved him away.
"I can stand!"
"My lord you are not well enough."
"Then give me a walking stick!"
The healer walked away and came back with a pair of cruches.
"Please use these."
Rhayader put one under each arm and began walking out when he caught sight of Airnae near a window. He walked over to her.
"My lady, how was the battle?"

(My goodness you live! Welcome back)

Arinae turned, and saw to her surprise, Rhayader, supported by roughly hewn crutches. "Rhayader! What are you doing walking around... surely you are not fully healed yet." Pausing a moment to his question, Arinae sighed dispondently and turned to look again through the window.

"It went well, with few losses, though still plenty have been wounded... but ill news has been brought, news which I shall not wish to allow to anyone else as of yet until I have spoken with Lord Aemornion the Captain of Gondor... all I can say is we shall have our hands full and our strength taxed to extremes," she murmured.

The sound of hammering was heard distantly outside as the craftsman directed a few men to secure the entrance of the caves with steel and wood, making use of the enemy spears and swords, as well as armor, to firm the block. Rohirrim and Gondrorians alike nearby stood ready with arrows incase an enemy was indeed disturbed within the caves while the men were at work.

Rhayader smiled.
"I am well enough."
He took in what she said and nodded.
"Very well my lady but I would like one request, I need to be active, I am so bored layed on my bed for so long. Is there any way I can be useful to you?"

Arinae sighed again for a moment in pondering silence before answering his question. "If you wish, you can assist with the wounded as much as you can, and when plans are being made for defense, I shall also summons you and we shall hear your opinion on the situation as well"

She inclined her head slightly toward him then paced out with a firm stride, her hands clasped still behind her back. Her thoughts strayed to the breach in the wall, and she had one of her men gather a small group of able bodied men to begin work on repairing it.

"I want the outside resealed properly, with the same stone, and be sure it is at least barely visible as damaged on the outside, for we don't wish anyone to find immediately the weak point as we had. Seal the inside with as much rubble as you can gather, piling also the enemy weapons and armor to brace it" She instructed the men swiftly with a firm voice, her glance occasionally straying to watch those who firmed the support on the cave entrance.

Unable to sit idle and wait, Arinae began to assist in rebuilding the block of the breach, the heavy stone requiring two sets of hands to lift its weight. Pain however soon plagued her healing shoulder from the strain and she winced vaguely, leaving the work to the men, murmuring her apologies.

After sitting to regain her composure and overcome the brief pain, Arinae sought a more easily fullfilled task, heading in search of the Gondorian Captain to inform him of the threat approaching.
