Haldir sat there looking as arrogant as ever. He looked sideways at his shoulder. Making sure Meleth's back was turned, he quietly tore a strip of his cloak off and attempted to single-handedly wrap it around his shoulder.

Miriel thanked Meleth for the bandage and her face showed a slight smile when she saw Haldir covering his wound. "Haldir, did you see Elegost during the fight..? I mean, it would take more as two orcs to capture him"

"There were probably a whole horde of them left," said Haldir fumbling with the strip of cloth. "Unless they didn't capture him at all."

Miriel tried to recall everything that happened the night before. The Orcs had left all of the sudden with great hurry. "Where would they take them? " she muttered lost in her thoughts. "Probably to their camp for this was only a scout party."
Miriel looked at Haldir "Do you have any idea how we could get them out of there?"

Haldir was deep in thought. "Like we did before, we could always start a diversion," he said. "But we cannot, because you and Melleth are both wounded."

"Their anger can flare up only too easily," he said slowly. "So if we remain hidden, but find something that can make them argue and forget about their captives, then we can get them out."

Miriel 's eyes went over the barren land. There was nothing they could use. No twig or leave was alive. No sound of birds and the land was deserted. "I don't think we can lure them with a dead kinsmen.." She sudenly remembered Elegost and what he'd been doing before the attack.

"Haldir! Do you think we still can use the carcass of the deer which Elegost did catch with hunt?"

Meleth looked up. "Unless Elegost has already found them," she added. "Maybe that's why we haven't seen him." She turned around and suddenly laughed. "Haldir! Never again will I ask if someone is wounded - I'll check myself! Come down so I can fix that."

Haldir jumped in shock. "Fix... what?" he said rather stupidly. Then he sighed and slowly climbed down the tree. "Fine, yes ..." he muttered. "I got wounded."

"I really wonder if Elegost has found them already," said Haldir, unwrapping his badly-wrapped shoulder. "I can imagine him creeping around their camp at this very moment."

Miriel giggled and said "Elves..." teasing voice while shaking her head.
"Lets hope Elegost is in their neighbourhood, he'll find a way to free them"

Haldir shot a glare at Miriel.

"I have a feeling Elegost knows what he's doing," said Haldir, letting Melleth fix his arm. "I'm guessing he is doing his best to free them right at this moment, and we had better go help him."

Meleth was tempted to be annoyed with Elegost for not even trying to find them first, but she smothered it. "Haldir, what in Middle-Earth were you trying to do?" she asked, unwinding his clumsy bandage in consternation. "This wouldn't have stayed on for three seconds!" She carefully took it off and redid it properly.
Meleth stood there for a moment, biting her lip, and turned to Miriel. "Do you think you need a night's rest or should we go now?"

Miriel nodded "We will go now, the faster we find Elegost or one of the others the better. I don't think I need any rest now."
She got on her feet. "I think we should go north since that's the place where Elegost spotted the scouts from the beginning. They might camp there"
