Sygnet lashed her whip at the orc/goblin mix. It curled around it's arm and she yanked, pulling it closer as she swung her sword. She aimed to cut off it's arm and moved behind it to stab it in the back. She kicked it down into the snow and drove her sword through it's back.

Micha slashed a second time at the wolf creature, and then again and again. Finally the wounded beast fell lifeless.

Another moved in on Micha with quick attacks. The undead elf creature. Eshlyn and Nessia had also both dispatched a creature of their own.

The last remaining Elder Elf was strong and quick. Micha, Eshlyn and Nessia all converged on the enemy.

Micha glanced over towards Sygnet to be sure she was well and her wound was not flaring up during battle. She seemed to be handling herself well.

As her enemy fell, dead in the snow, she turned to the final one. She snapped her whip across it's back, dropping it in the snow, she unsheathed her short sword, holding it in her right hand, she began her attack on the mutant elf.

The group converged on the enemy that Sygnet had wounded and it fell quickly.

The Elder Elves were tough and ruthless but lacked great skill in battle tactics and smarts. Thankfully...


"We need to get into that cave before more show up!" Micha hollered out, pointing to a small cave in the distance.

Sygnet nodded, retrieved her horse and began moving swiftly towards the cave, her sword out, ready for a second battle if need be.

Thankfully everyone in the party made it inside the cave safely. Once they were inside Micha felt around on the wall.

"There should be a lever somewhere," he told Sygnet. The cave was so dark, however, gis human eyes could not see it. "It shuts the entrance to the cave."

Sygnet too began to feel around, locating it, she pulled and the entrance shut sharply. She looked around it the total darkness, "We need fire," she said.

Micha reached out to feel, landing a hand on Sygnet's shoulder. "Be sure not to move around too much. There are drop offs in here that go hundreds of feet down."

His heavy sigh could be heard faintly echoing through the cavern.

"And... we can't light a fire." He paused again. "These caves are filled with flammable minerals... if we light a fire we risk lighting the entire cavern aflame."

His last words were spoken with a knowing dread of the upcoming journey and a deep somber tone. "We will have to travel through the dark for the next two days."

Sygnet sighed slightly, "This will be an interesting journey," she said, "We don't really sleep, so, get some rest, Micha," she turned to him and reach out a hand to guide him. She could just barely make out his outline in the darkness but her eyes were getting accustomed to the darkness.

Micha gladely accepted her hand and guidance. He could see nothing... Not even his hand infront of his face. Last time he made rhis journey he had grouped in the darkness like a blind man and stumbled into the exit by fate. Having alelves would be much appreciated this go around. Once they were in a safe place Micha took a while to rest before continuing onward.

Sygnet moved along the wall, peering through the gloom, her dagger out and ready in case of a battle. Her hand was gripping his to help guide him along, "There is an incline. Watch your step. Small slope. Step. There you go," she would say repeatedly.

The original anxiety Micha had felt going into the cave, though not gone completely, seemed like a drip in the ocean compared to his first go through these lands. As Sygnet held firmly to his hand and he to hers, he could feel his nerves relax. With the guidance of Sygnet he, and the group, reached the end of the first leg of their journey.

As Sygnet had les him and explained what was around he recognized the area. "We should stop here," he said. "The exit is only around a bend and a straight up climb for a short distance. I will need to rest before that, however. Once we get up the climb we will come to another cavern with lava flows. Babby dragons use those caverns for their homes while still too young to survive in the outside world. I will need to be rested and with enough strength to fight if need be."

Sygnet nodded and guided Micha to a spot by the wall and sat down beside him, holding her sword in her lap. Her shoulder had been sore since the fight and she hoped that she wouldn't have to fight again. Climbing, however. That would be a challenge for the whole group.

Micha sat down with a sigh and worked to calm his nerves as he contemplated the complete darkness that surounded him.

Finally after a moment of silence, hearing that Sygnet had taken a seat beside him he asked. "How are doing, then?"

"I am doing fine. How are you holding up?" She asked, turning to look at him in the darkness. She could feel his tension in the air around them.

Micha chuckled a bit. Partialy to hide hisstate of mind and partialy in sincerity as he remembered his past ventures. "All considering I am doing great... It would s far less of a nightmare when I have someone to guide me. I am very thankful you are here."
