Aearion nodded and sped Morel up until he was sure he was ahead, and then carried on their way.
Soon, they came to the border, and were stopped by scout.
"Halt. Who are you and what is your purpose here?" the guard held his bow ready to knock an arrow, and many other guards crowded around them, doing the same.
"Maeron, I am most dissapointed in you. Do you not know your own step brother?" Aearion mocked a hurt look the best he could, but his face soon broke out into a grin. Maeron's face lit up and he lowered his weapon,
"Aearion?! I havn't seen you in a while!" He looked to Morel. "Neither have I seen you lately, black one." He then gestured to Halarond and the other elves and men. "And who are you friends?"
"This is Lord Halarond, Halarond, This is my step brother, Maeron, son of Nestarion."

"It is good that we should meet in this way, for the borders much be watched at all times , especially now, but I am sure your Brother can tewll you more later."

Maeron nodded.
"Indeed. For now I will take you to my house, we have room for all of you, they may not be the best, but I assure you they are far better than bare ground." As he mounted his horse and they started off, he continued,
"Gwahir reached here a few days ago with your friend, who is doing fine. Father says that he is having a bit of Metal illness, but should be perfectly fine, he is very strong." Maeron then twisted on his horse to face Halarond, "I assume, Lord Halarond, that you seek an audience with the king?"

"Yes, that would be most kind." Halarond said in return, and was led through the Great Gates of Thranuil, and firstly to the stables, to attend to their kind beasts who had ridden hard and were not forgotten in the Elves thoughts. He was then led to his quarters, where a bath was drawn for him. He bathed and washed hias armour. He ate a little food which was brought for him, then he awaited the Summons of King Thranduil.

Nestarion walked into the room after hearing Maeron's voice,
"Maeron, I thought you still had guard duty, why are you back already-" He stopped abruptly when he spotted his younger foster son. "Aearion?! Aearion, ion nin! You are back! How good it is to see you back in the greenwood in one piece." He embraced his son, who returned the hug eagerly,
"Mae govanen, Ada. It is good to see you as well." Nestarion stepped away and then looked to Halarond, who was now clean and somewhat rested.
"And I assume you are Lord Halarond, am I wrong? Tulmind has spoke of you from time to time."

Tulmind awoke and started idmeaditly at Harlond. His eyes softened and he smiled. "Good....,"Tulmind was about to say 'Good morning but he didn't know if it was night or day. "Oh well it is good to see you both again." he sat up feeling a little bit of pain in his chest but he blocked it out of his mind and listened in on the conversation. "So what are we to do now?" Tulmind asked remebering that they still had a war waiting for them.

Halarond laughed at the 'telling off' of Tulmind. Tulmind was a strong character, but Halarond could tell when he was in pain and clearly lying. He laughed again, Elves were not good at 'fibbing'!

Maeron then entered the room, and nodded to his father and brother,
"Ada, gwador. Lord Halarond, King Thranduil will see you now, I must say he seemed quite eager to speak to you about our dealings with Dul Guldor."

Halarond rose from his chair where he was waiting and entered the Chamber, leading the Lord Aearion out of respect.
He came before theking and Bowed low.

Tulmind sat back down and knew that that line would have worked on almost any person but this was no mere healer. He sighed a layed up against his pillows and began to dream of other places to pass the time.
