Niell nodded silently and began to walking to the left, being careful to keep his steps light and avoid treading on anything that might make a sound.

Silmarwen headed to the right, occasionally glancing towards Niell to be sure she wouldn't lose sight of him.

Niell kept his eyes locked on the shape. He still couldn't make it out in the impossible darkness but as he got closer he could see its size more clearly. It had an odd outline, he guessed that it was wearing a cloak. Suddenly the thing stopped its relentless pacing and turned to face him. Its face was shrouded under a hood and Niell was gripped with a strong sense of foreboding. He stopped his forward movement and just stared.

Silmarwen came up behind the shadow, her sword held up to shield her if the shadow made any sudden attempts. A cloak, she could tell it wore, but she saw Niell stop and saw the shadow stop. She took that oppertunity to creep closer, coming to a distance not much more than 10 feet.

Niell squinted in the dark for a moment, trying in vain to see the face beneath the hood. He knew that he had felt this evil before, he just couldn't place it. The creature reached to its waist and drew a long black blade while letting out a deafening screech. Suddenly the memory came back, "wraith!" he yelled to Silmarwen.

Silmarwen jumped back slightly at the screech. She knew well what it was. just great... what a way to start an adventure... Troubled about what she was to do, at that moment, she still held her sword ready and awaited to see if it turned on either of them.

The wraith looked at Niell, a strange sniffing noise came from under the hood. It examined him for a moment before giving another screech and turning on Silmarwen.

Silmarwen raised her sword a little more to ward off any blows the wraith might choose to give. She eyed him coldly, grimacing with hate at the sniffing sounds and the screech.

Niell ran forward, his sword at the ready, when he was stopped by a second screech coming from behind him. He groaned, one wraith they might be able to handle. But two? He spared a quick glance behind him and when he didn't see anything in the darkness, continued forward.

Silmarwen rushed forward with the intention of pinning the wraith between her and Niell and confusing him. She heard the screech behind Niell, then suddenly another behind her. three??!?! dang.... Looking behind, she saw nothing, nearly the same moment Niell did, then turned her attention back to the middle wraith.
