Thaldir discreetly checked his weapons, and nursed a a pendant he carried as a wristband.

Daena nodded and turned her gaze upon the surrouding, the trees, the water, the flowers. The birds sung their beautiful songs and Daena closed her eyes to listen to them, totally trusting her horse.

Suddenly the birds stopped singing...

The silence lasted for a minute or two, as tension in the company grew and grew, they said nothing, remaining alert. Then a great squawk could be heard from what seemed quite a distance away, possibly a league or two, but from which direction it could not be reckoned. Then a few seconds passed, the squawk was closer, Thaldir turned quickly, retrieving and pulling back his bow in one swift motion and released an arrow, It ripped through the trees, and hit a bush about 50 metres away. No more squawks were heard.

Thaldir spoke: "Some ancient trickery has just taken place, but by whom or what I cannot tell, let us investigate, stay alert, I fear evil has not passed.

Daena dismounted her horse and followed Thaldir, her bow and an arrow in her hands, her sword loosened, ready to be drawn.

She carefully stepped into the shadow of the woods, looking around, slightly frightened but not willing to let her fear come to her mind.

She suddenly turned around as she heard a faint squawk from one of the trees...

"They both turned, 'Stay close to me' Thaldir whispered, be prepared for sudden attacks from any angle, for you cannot know from which direction they will ambush.........

They waited, and listened to the squawk getting louder, then more joined it, fainter, then getting louder, the noise became deafening, the company put their hands over their ears to try and drown out the noise, and as they did so, it stopped, silence once again gripped the area....

Thaldir spoke, "I am sure you are skilled in combat, let us pray there are no more than 3 of these beasts, or we are in trouble....."

Daena put the bow and the arrow back and drew both of her swords, preparing to fight.

Suddenly one of the squawk was heard again, then a scream. It didn't sound human. She carefully stepped forward, coming closer to the scream. She poked her head through a bush and suddenly pulled it back.

She couldn't quite describe what she had seen. Something like a human, but smaller and naked and with extremely pale skin and huge eyes. It ran away as soon as it had noticed Daena, leaving some blood stains and bones on the ground

Thaldir was suddenly confronted by a great scream, and he spun round, unsheathing his sword, and cut the arm of the beast, this one was similar in looks to the creature Daena had seen, it sreamed again, launching itself at Thaldir, he ducked, and this time thrust his sword deep into its heart, a Deafening scream came once again from the creature, follwed by the sound of several more scattering away in the bushes.....

"It looks as if somebody doesn't want us to reach Fangorn" Thaldir proclaimed.

Daena looked at Thaldir, then smirked. "They won't keep me away from Fangorn.", she said and ran off into the bushes.

She stumbled and rolled down a little hill, as she opened her eyes again she lay in the shadow of some woods next to a glade. There were three of those creatures again.

She drew her bow again and shot one arrow that killed the creature next to her, then shot another one that hit the leg of one of the other creatures. After that she jumped upon her feet, her right foot injured, and drew her swords, preparing to fight...

Aria notched an arrow, " What are they?" She asked Thaldir. Then she noticed Daena, she ran after her, as she drew near she took out a dagger from her belt.

Her foot hurt as she stuck her long sword into the stomch of one of the creatures and she fell to the ground, her shoulder bled as the third creature hit her with his dagger.

Aria to Deana and protected her from the other creatures. Though she wish she could heal her and protect her.

Daena was still on the ground when Aria killed the creature she had left. She tried to stand up but everything around her went black and she fell to the ground again, the wound in her shoulder bleeding and her foot hurting
