She looked about the field once more and then shook her head, "I too was looking for a bit of bloodshed, Master Dwarf. Alas, that I have not seen battle in over a week and I long for a cure to the boredom," she said; her tone was dark and her eyes seemed to shine insanely at the mention of battle and blood. The disturbing look lasted only a moment before she returned to a duller tone as she replied to the woman standing next to her, " I shall be certain to alert you when the confrentation occurs...if it occurs. Doubtless he will be busy and unable to speak until it benefits his own plans. But such is the way with most wizards, and I try not to hold it against them, and I am doing a very poor job at that."

Goldleaf had remained silent all the while as the others spoke, and her eyes, usually bright blue as bluebells, had darkened with fury. "You speak as if battle is something to gain fun from, to be enjoyable," she said quietly, "that is strange. No-one should enjoy battle. Not when you know what it does to people." She paused, and gave a tiny smile. "Around two years ago I lost my whole family in a battle at Osgiliath, and now that it's being said that Lord Denathor's oldest son is dead too - I seek only to restore glory for my country. Why would you seek battle for enjoyment?" She shook her head and held her arm limply; it was starting to ache a little. "However, I thank you again for stitching up my arm."

In a flash the small woman had whipped around to face Goldleaf. Her brown eyes flashing in annoyance, her smile turned feral; the look was one that would send cowards running, so different it was from her usual actions. "And who are you child to question what we find enjoyable? Tell the truth, you are here to avenge your family and reek as much pain on the race that did it. Truly that is hypocritical of you, at least we admit we enjoy the pain of the enemy. I have grown up in battle, and have also lost family and friend to our foe. I will venture to say there a few here that have not seen the same pain. We all wish to restore our homes, it is why we are all here...or most. Why not glean a little enjoyment why we are out? And if that comes at the price of an enemies blood I will pay it gladly," she finished her tone still dark.
(Sorry about Maeth, she's just not very nice.)

{Aww... -pets Maeth- But then we woulndt love her  }
At Goldleaf's words she has spun around; an eyebrow lifted, her emerald eyes suddenly not so twinkly. She lets Maeth finish before speaking, her quiet voice deadly. "I have walked this earth for over a two thousand years human." The last word spat as it it would scald her tongue. "I have seen more death than you can imagine. Me and my companion have learnt that war is something which is done in utter detachment, and with a smile on one's lips. I dont think that I've gone more than a month without ending up in a battle in the last millennia. As she says, why not enjoy it? It will happen inevitably... So why not be a big girl and grin and bare it?" Her tone rather mocking she picks up her pack and goes to set it against a tree. Glaring at the ground, she shakes her head and walks away from the group, quickly disappearing into the trees.

Rain pushed herself away from the tree. For a moment she rocked slightly, head spinning, then recovered and came over to the three woman and the dwarf.
"I both love and hate battle and war. Like you, Goldberry, I have also lost my family to this war. I fight for revenge and the adrenaline. But I do not love the blood and madness of a battle. As I see it, it's always good to find a happy medium."

"Goldleaf," Goldleaf corrected Rain swiftly before turning towards the two others. Her expression was grim, she was as formidable and icy as any elf.
"Perhaps you'll wish to journey alone," she said, her tone glacially pleasant. "Fun from battle I cannot condone; I have also grown up in the midst of war, on the very edge of Mordor and it's armies. Long has my city defended it's own boarders and your own, I deem." She paused, her eyes had taken on a surprising darkness, the very shadows of battle seemed to linger within them. "I have lived on the edge of battle, screams, blood and death more than you know." She smiled at Maethoriel. "You want me to be a "big girl"? You know nothing of what I've encountered."
(Teehee... Goldleaf can be surprisingly nasty when she wants...)

The voices of the other grow fainter as she keeps moving. She had no interest in arguing with children at the moment. She walks quietly, the littered bodies growing fewer as she walks away. Suddenly the air seems to become darker, and she slides her sword from its sheath slowly. A fox jumps from a bush and away from her. Letting out a sigh, she lets her sword tip drop. Muttering darkly she heads back. "Why now? Oh Valar..."

Goldleaf walked away, and eventually the bright blue light, familiar and undark, returned to her eyes as tears welled inside them. She fiercely blinked them away. She was tired of being treated like she knew nothing, tired of being treated as if she had not experienced pain. She pushed her way through the trees. She would leave for Osgiliath as soon as possible. She would see her old home again. But first she needed to take a few breaths and stop being so angry.
Goldleaf couldn't stop thinking about her family as she walked along. They had died, despite her best efforts to save them, they had died. She had fled from Osgiliath, only seventeen, and spent two solid years hiding in Ithilien, and protecting it when she could, as best she could. And then the dreadful news had came.
Boromir of Gondor, dead, the great warrior never again to ride back to his city. Goldleaf had loved him dearly, loved him because he was strong and he defended Gondor - but that love could never have been returned. She had stayed in Ithilien. And now it seemed that all she had left was to protect Gondor.
She picked up a twig and crunched it, frustrated, and started to turn back. She'd try and make ammends. She didn't usually argue. Goldleaf sighed and walked back towards camp.

(Did I really say Goldberry? Ooops! Sorry! lol! I guess that's what happens when it's late at night and you're really really tired... Sorry!)
Rain sighed. She saw boths sides of the argument, and supported both but neither in a way. But, fighting was her way of making a living.
"I am a mercinary after all," she murmered under her breath, and went back to her tree that she had been leaning on before. Now she sat down between two big roots and leaned back to look at the sky. The sun was just now rising above the mountains in the East, but dreadfull clouds covered it still. That's what the sunrises looked like in Gondor in these dark times.
Goldleaf says we'll never know what she's gone through. But she will never know what I've been through. We'll never know what these two strangers have gone through. It's just the way life plays out, Rain thought to herself, then a small smile graced her lips as she closed her eyes, feeling tired. I wouldn't be supprised if all four of us women had a tragic past, full of war and bloodshed.

Goldleaf came back slowly through the trees. She spotted Rain sitting against a tree, and wiped her eyes. She looked around, and her hands were trembling in surpressed sadness. "I'm sorry about that," she said, generally, to everyone. "I was just listening to the conversation about war... and I was thinking about something else. I..." She shook her head. "No, some matters are best left undiscussed." Her voice was hoarse and quiet, and she walked over to a spot where she could sit down.

Rain opened her eyes when she heard Goldleaf talking. So she came back?
"It's alright. I know what that feels like. I just let things that bother me go in one ear and out the other. That usually helps," she said with a grin, which was wiped away and replaced with a wince.
"I think we just need sleep. We've been fighting and recovering all night, plus all that excitement yesterday."

"Did you get hurt in the battle?" Goldleaf asked. "And Turwaithiel, Falcon and Drogo, what about them?" Concern painfully strained her voice. She rested her head in her hands and sighed. "We've got to leave soon, when everyone is better. I can't stay here like this, doing nothing. I used to live in Osgiliath, you know, Rain. And war is coming. I have to help."

Rain nodded.
"I got hurtt, but I'm fine, thanks to those two who choose not to give there names. I can't say anything about Falcon, Tur, and Drogo," she said hastilly, then slowed. "I lived in Osgiliath as well, but was born in Minas-Tirith. And everyone knows war is coming."
Rain lifted her head again to look at the sky.
"The proof is above us and around us. But, we shouldn't fight about whether we like fighting or not. Someone once told me, "the laughter of Mordor will be our only reward of fighting amungst ourselves instead of our enemy.""

Goldleaf sighed. "Whoever told you that was true," she said. "Those sound like the words of Mithrandir, very much so. I only met him once, but I knew him straightaway to be a person of wise counsel, and sound knowledge."
She bent her golden head; strands of hair shaded her face. "I would give anything to have my family back safe beside me," she said. "I would give anything to have the man I loved back safely, beside me or not." Her last words were quieter, almost inaudible.

Garsun sighed as the friendly conversation turned into a squable. When everyone finally settled down, the dwarf went to sit on a fallen log.
"I'm sorry my coment turned into a fight. I meant to harm," he said. "And you speak of Mithradir? I gather that your Mithradir is what we dwarves call Gandalf. I've never met him, but I've seen him. He came to the Lonely Mountain to see how things were going. I was just a child at the time. Me and all the other dwarflings gathered around as he told us of how Thorin, Bilbo, and the other twelve dwarves had traveled from the West to the Lonely Mountain to capture their gold from Smaug the dragon. He seemed merry enough to me. But then, people do change over the years." Garsun went on, unaware of the other's solemness...

Rain was about to reply to Goldleaf when Garsun started promonising. When he finnished, Rain gave a good real luagh, which was rare.
"Well, dwarf, you certaintly are one to lighten the mood. First you sleep through a battle, then you go on blabbering about times long gone. Though, I'm sure most have someone they would give anything to have back. But, at least we have memories, right? Like master dwarf here, maybe it would help to remember the better parts of life," she said as she stood. Rain then put an arm across her waste and bowed. "I thank you master dwarf for teaching me such a fine lesson, without realizing you were teaching it in the first place."
