Tindomerel sat back up on her stool. "I don't know," she said, truthfully, "Arinae went to tell him. I thought it best if somebody watched you... And Eomer still can't be very happy with me..."
Tindomerel sighed, lookingat the hands in her lap. She hoped he won't be mad at her forever. "It was just a small mistake..." she mumbled.

Arinae finally pulled her gaze from the plains and turned, returning to where Rhayader and Tin were. She sat down in a chair nearby with a weary sigh. "I am sorry I haven't returned for a while... I was preparing for a.... defence..." she clenched her jaw. "Lord Eomer took the news fairly troubled.... but he requested we prepare to defend while a messenger was sent out to ask for assistance..." She bowed her head slightly, mumbling, "and I had the nerve to try to contradict him... he said I reminded him of his sister..." she mumbled sheepishly.

"A defense? How many men do we have? Do you want me to help?"

"Yes... we are to remain within the walls for now... I'd say we have 1000 at best... perhaps some of the villages surrounding will come to assist us, but I'm afraid we do not even half half as many as the enemy..." Arinae sighed and shook her head, "No, Rhayader, you need to rest..."

"And I'll stay, too," she ended with a mumble, looking down at her leg, "I realize now that this leg will take some time to heal itself."

Arinae gave a wave of her hand. "I feel useless as well at this moment.... I feel there is something else we can do, but we wait here like sitting ducks.... I know they'll use fire... and I know that we are letting them pick the time and place for attack, and that's, in my terms, a poor stratigy to fall back on so quickly... Riders are much better on horses and out in the open, choosing their place and thier time for a battle.... " she let out a sigh and shook her head. "But I'm not one to be speaking...."

"I have many of the riders preparing to head outside the gates so I may put as much Rohirrim stratigy into play as possible... and I have the archers on the walls, as well as having craftsmen work on larger weapons. One had an idea in mind, something to do with flames and explosions, but I really didn't have time to examing it closely... " Arinae mumbled and meandered slightly in her thoughts.

Tindomerel shivered in memory of the weapons Saruman had used in the War of the Ring. They sounded like what Arinae was trying to copy. "Will you need any help?" asked Tindomerel, hopefully, "I won't be much good until this leg heals, though. I'm starting to understand the useless feeling..."
She rubbed her leg, whincing in pain. It still hurt, but she could put aside the pain.

"If it were up to me, I would take most of the men available and ride out to meet them, and thus choosing our ground, our time, our place..." Arinae let out another sigh and shook her head. "But I'm foolish to think it could be better... The most I can do to gain advantage is choose the ground just outside the gates, and have two groups in waiting by the sides, out of sight among the hills."

Arinae nodded slightly to Tin. "You may be the most experianced... perhaps you should oversee the weapons the craftsmen are trying to create..."

Tindomerel became stiff. She had swore to herself that she would never get near one of those things again. She shivered in fear. But, she knew that if it was for Rohan...
"Okay," she said, weakly, her voice shaking, "I have seen what they can do..."
She shivered again. "Is it cold in here?" asked Tindomerel.
She knew it wasn't cold. She was just afraid of facing those things again. But at least those things were on their side and not against them. Tindomerel looked at Arinae. "Where are the craftsmen wroking?" she asked, her voice a little uneasy, "I have...forgotten."
It was the truth. She couldn't remember Edoras' layout.
