(Well.... you're supposed to be a person from this normal world, who fell into Middle Earth, and are now exploring the uncharted lands)

Well, opening my map on in the back of my LotR book...you're headed towards and past the Sea of Rhun. So one road would be through Mirkwood, and then (so to Beorn's, then to Legolas', then DOWN the Riven Running) passing by the Iron Hills, and down into the Sea of Rhun and beyond. ON the South-western shore of Rhun there is a mountain range. The river comes in on the north-west side, and on the north-east is a dense forest. Then the map disappears as the forest fades away.
Personally, I always imagine another river hidden in the forest...
but who knows what you'll discover...and who may be there...if those birds really came from there... :bones: :-D :bounce:

(:D Alrighty then, let's get a move on! *acts like a cattle driver and herds them all out*)

"Well, I s'pose we best get going before dark, eh? We'll be wanting to take the road to Mirkwood, the easiest way." Saying that, Idril urged her mare through the gate at a trot, hoping she had not forgotten anything.

Melda mounted and carefully urged Sanya after them. "But that means we have to go over or through the Misty Mountains somehow," she said apprehensively to Idril, not liking the thought of Caradhras or Moria like it had happened in the movie.

"Well, we should be safe, so we can easily take the main road," Idril replied confidently. "I highly doubt evil has any concern over us... until..." She hesitated with a sheepish grin. "Until we reach the unknown lands. Keep in mind, we're not heading towards Mordor, so we don't have to worry about the pass. We're heading due East, to Mirkwood."

"We should have no trouble with the Pass of Galadrin, Sauramen and Souron no longer have any power and it is summer, We can then stop at Beorn's and then through Mirkwood. Shall we go to Dale, if so we can then go by boat down the River Running to Dorwinion, which though part of Rhun trades with Mirkwood. Sorry am i going to fast?"

Idril grinned at Anduril and shook her head. "No, not too fast at all... In fact, you're doing a wonderful job. You sure do know your maps and directions. Great to have you along"

"thanks, we had to do a project at school about a country, anyway i pushed the rules and did it on Rhun and its possible allies and oragins." she gave a small laugh "one thing we don't want to do probebly is go into the Sea of Rhun, thier main citys are ther and it would be like going straight into the Lions den, they have wachers at the River Runnings mouth so we couldn't pass into the Sea undetected we'll have to go round"

Okay, getting this thing moving along (Idril and Anduril, hope y'all don't mind use of your names).

And so the fellowship, laden with provisions strapped to their backs, said farewell to the folks in Rivendell and set off along the road heading East.

The days past, and ever closer the grey shapes of the Misty Mountains grew. The days cooled. As finally the Fellowship began climbing up the mountain--"On the very pass Bilbo took with Thorin and Co. Do you realize that?" Idril said to Anduril -- a chill rain mixed with sleet began to fall.
