Micha nodded and stood, tossing a few coins on the table for a tip and heading for the door. "I'm beginig to wonder if it is safe to sleep here to ight," he whispered softly, noticing the men looking at them.

After they were out in the street Micha headed towards the inn as though they would indeed get a room, with plans to leave out the back if they decided it was too dangerouse.

(Well, I think they should have a spot of trouble with our strangers from the inn? What do you think? And if you would like to, feel free to start anything if you have an idea)

Sygnet followed him out the door, purposefully not looking around at the table with the five strangers in the corner. They were large men, big, lumbering and burly, except for the one in the middle, who was smaller and looked a bit more intelligent.

(Sounds like good to me. I'll throw little things in here and there if I come up with an idea but your the brains behind this plot so I'll let you lead the main flow of things. )


Micha entered the inn and requested a room. The inn keeper was eager to offer them his most expensive room, being as they were strangers. "Something simple," Micha requested placidly.

"Oh, but sir," The inn keeper continued. "This room really is our finest room and I can offer you half the regular price." No doubt they had fixed up a room for more wealthy visitors and had been mostly unable to rent it out to anyone passing through. It made Micha wonder, however, just why it was they thought there would be a need for such a luxurious room.

Micha sighed lowly and glanced at Sygnet.

Sygnet could sense something fishy going on in the town. He had seemed so ready to give them the room right off. Now she was curious as to what could possibly be going on here. It was likely a trap but hey, she wanted to find out the secrets.

She forked over the rest of the coins for the fancy room and then smiled at Micha.

Micha gave Sygnet a small smile, trying to act casual. He wondered too... he had to admit. Things in this small town just seemed off. The inn keeper gave them the key and Micha waited until they were up the stairs and heading for the room before he spoke. "I'm guessing we are probably not getting much sleep tonight." He said this because no doubt one or both of them would have to be standing guard, given the circumstances.

He walked up to the door and unlocked it, stepping inside. It certainly was a fancy room... a large canopy bed, burgundy carpet, finely crafted furniture with a shiny varnish, and three large fancy windows on two sides of the room. It seemed to sit right in the north east corner of the inn. Micha wasn't sure what the trap might be but he certainly knew he didn't like all the windows. He immediately walked over to them and closed them, pulling over silk curtains to shut out prying eyes.

Sygnet nodded, "That would probably be best for this journey," she said. She immediately began to search through drawers and in the wardrobes and the desk. She didn't know what she was looking for. Just. Something.

"Those windows are..." she couldn't think of the word, "this whole town makes me nervous," she mumbled.

Micha nodded. "I agree... there is something not right with this place." After closing the curtains he walked over to Sygnet. "What are you thinking?" He asked.

Sygnet smiled, then dropped her voice, "I say we leave the door unlocked and set up the pillows and blankets to look like we are sleeping. Then we hide in the wardrobe. I think the innkeeper uses this room to kidnap his guests. I'm willing to bet those men in the tavern will attempt to get some answers from us. When they come in, we jump out and attsck," she suggested. It was worth a shot. There was no guarantee that the men would come at all but it was worth a shot.

Micha nodded. "Sounds like a plan... I wouldn't get to sleep on a bed like that anyways probably. Too soft."

He looked around the room a bit then opened the wardrobe. It was plenty large enough. "There are certainly worse options than being stuck in a wardrobe with my wife," Micha teased. "At least the company will be good."

He walked over to arrange the bed and pillows.

Sygnet laughed quietly and stepped into the wardrobe, "I mean, it would definitely be worse if you had to share it was Syndar," she joked, nestling into a corner while he climbed in. She held her sword close to her side, ready to spring into action if needed.

"Indeed," Micha agreed with a seemingly thoughtful look. He shook his head. "That would never work, that horse is a space hog. It's hard enough to share a stable with him."

Micha knelt down on on knee while they wiated, hand also resting on his sword. He didn't know how long they might be there. "Why don't you get some rest and I'll take first watch," he told Sygnet.

Sygnet nodded and leaned against the wall. She didn't have to sit down to rest her eyes and "sleep" as the elves do. One hand rested on her sword as she leaned there, not settling into a deep sleep but prepared to fight and be awake within moments.

Hours went by as they waited. At about 2 in the morning, the door knob rattled and five men entered the room quietly. Sygnet awoke quietly and looked around.

Micha placed a gentle hand on Sygnet's leg as she roused and motioned towards the door. He figured she had already heard the noise, her keen elf ears no doubt waking her up. He wanted to be sure, however. He could not tell for sure what was going on outside the wardrobe but he did hear the door open softly and the subtle sounded of "sneaking" footsteps enter the room. His hand gripped the hilt of his sword and he glanced up at Sygnet, waiting until the men were fully in the room with the door shut to spring their trap.

Sygnet looked down at him and nodded. With a swift movement, she slammed open the wardrobe and unleashed her whip menacingly with a snap. The men, momentarily frozen with fear, immediately drew their weapons. Sygnet prepared for a fight.

Micha jumped out with Sygnet, blade drawn before the men turned around. In the pause he held ready but as soon as the men started to draw their weapons he lunged forward. He struck one man in the face with his elbow, knocking him to the ground. He backed up, as the other two men had their weapons out now.

"Drop the weapons," one man said. "It's three against two!" He glanced nervously at the man beside him who was struggling back to his feet as his nose bled from Micha's impact.

"Two and a half against two," Micha retorted. "I've beaten much worse odds."

In response to Micha, Sygnet snapped her whip and it snapped around the bleeding one's wrist and she yanked him to the ground, "Stay down," she growled. That one obeyed and she pointed her sword at his head.

"Now, would the rest of you drop your weapons and kindly tell me why you are in here?" she asked, her voice leaking with venom.

The two remaining men looked at each other and dropped their weapons.

"Good. I'm glad we are in agreement. Now, talk," she hissed.

"We were told to watch for a stranger in the town. We all knew it was you guys. Our boss sent us to kidnap you forcefully," the smaller one said. Sygnet recognized him from the bar.
