Alendariel held Elesana closer to herself as she sat in the home of her father, gazing out the window. Dark clouds gathered uncharacteristically to the North. Glancing at the child fast asleep in her arms, she pondered what to do. Gently she returned the child to her own bed, and stopped by her own room adjacent Elesana's to retrieve her cloak. She then made for the stables, hurridely saddling Galadelen. She rode to the edge of Rivendell, her heart pounding with anticipation. Her long, fair hair was swept back in the wind, and she turned her eyes to the sky as the clouds moved at an unnaturally swift pace, them seemed to stop entirely over Imladris. She raced back to the home of her father, hoping to find him. When she did not, she rode to the home of her brother, Ruthil and his wife Aduialwen and their two children. As she dismounted, her brother rushed to meet her. "I saw you ride towards this house. What troubles you, sister?"
"The clouds..." she managed to say between gasps for breath.
He glanced up quickly, then paled. "I shall alert Lord Elrond immeidately."

-----------------------------------------------------------

This is about an unknown evil that is coming to Rivendell and the response of the inhabitants. Anyone can join! ^_^

(Love to have you! ^_^)
Alendariel watched her brother ride, her sister-in-law rushing to meet her. "Where is he going?" she asked softly.
"To the home of Lord Elrond. The clouds...they are ominous at best." she said. Behind her, she heard soft footsteps, as those of a child. She turned quickly to see Elesana rushing towards her, her large blue eyes wide with fear. "What's happening, Naneth?"
Alendariel scooped the child up into her arms. "Nothing, dear one. Aduialwen, could she remain with you for the present?"
"Of course." was her hurried reply. She took the child from Alendariel and with that, Alendariel followed Ruthil upon Galadelen, fear rising up within her. She noticed Turwaithiel and Lord Elrond, and quickly dismounted.
"My Lord, something, some ominous evil looms over Imladris. The sky is clouded by some unnatural force."
Elrond lifted his eyes to the sky, the colour slowly leaving his cheeks. "The threat of Mordor looms more perilously each day," he said to no one in particular. He glanced back at Alendariel. "Hannon le, Alendariel." he turned swiftly, undoubtedly readying the army. Alendariel and Turwaithiel were left.

Arhiril ran towards Elrond.
"Ada,what is wrong what is all of this about Mordor"she asked
"Nothing Arhiril"Then Elrond stopped and turned to her."I'm sending you to Lorien with your sister, the escort will arrive soon."
"Why cant i know what is going on?Why must i be sent away?"Arhiril asked, her fair face in great distress.
Elrond's voice was harsher "Arhiril,it is for your safety my decision is final!"He walked away leaving Arhiril standing there.
Alendariel and Turwaithiel walked up to comfort her.
"There there My Lady..."said Alendariel

"He does it for your own safety," Alendariel soothed. "Fear not. He only wishes the best for you, as any father would. I have but one favour to ask of you: would you take my daughter with you? She is very young and will be killed if she is not protected." Alendariel asked.

Arhiril looked at her,and then relented.
"I do not wish to go, but for your daughter's sake i will."she said then her eyes widened"But please watch out for my father,he is the only reason i don't want to go away.We know the power of Mord,it is not to be belittled."

Alendariel nodded gratefully. "I shall protect him with my life. I shall get my daughter, and bring her to you." She turned and swiftly ran to the home of her brother. Elesana came to meet her, Aduialwen following.
"What is it?" Aduialwen asked, panting.
"I am leaving Elesana in the care of Arhiril, the daughter of Lord Elrond. She is going abroad and she has agreed to take Elesana with her to safety."
Aduialwen nodded slowly. "Very well." She embraced her neice once more.
Alendariel and Elesana rode swiftly to the South Pavilion where she saw Arhiril and scooped up Elesana as she approached the elven maiden.
"This is my daughter, Elesana. Elesana, dear one, this is Arhiril, the daughter of Lord Elrond. She is going to see the elves in Lorien, and I am going to have you go with her." she said, biting back tears as her daughter's expression changed to sheer panic. "No, Naneth, no!" She clutched her mother's clothing as Alendariel reluctantly passed the weeping child to Arhiril. A tear rolled down Alendariel's cheek as Elesana sobbed. Alendariel placed a kiss on Elesana's cheek, then turned to Arhiril. "Protect her...please. If I do not surrvive this onslaught, will you swear to me that you will raise her in my place?" she asked, her eyes fixed on Arhiril, her voice shaky and desperate.

Arhiril nodded but unsure that she could raise a child. She saw how hard Alendariel fought back her tears and said to her.
"The power of my granddmother,Galadriel will protet her.Lothlorien is safe, very safe."

Five days later the escort arrived for Arhiril and Elesana.Arhiril knew the child was upset.
"Dont worry Elesana, you will see your mother soon."said Arhiril stroking Elesana's cheek. The child did not respond.Arhiril smiled at her."We wil be going to Lorien, and you will love it there. It bright and full of golden trees, its the most beautiful place in the elven realms."
"Is it really that beautiful?"Elesana asked curiously finally paying Arhiril attention.
'As beautiful as you dear child, now get some rest, its a long journey."Arhiril held Elesana close to her, remembering the promise she made to Alendriel as Elesana closed her eyes and fell into deep slumber.

Alendariel's heart was torn at sending her only child away, but at the same time, she knew that was the only reasonable thing to do. She tried to busy herself with work to keep her mind off of it, but in truth, nothing could help her forget. She sat alone in her brother's kitchen, mulling the events of her tragic life over. She closed her eyes, then stood. She had heard that the escort had arrived today, which would mean Arhiril and Elesana would be departing shortly. She tucked herself behind a pillar and watched as the escort pulled up, waiting for Elesana and Arhiril to join them. But for her precious daughter's sake, she hoped Elesana did not see her...

(Wow LOL!)
As the caravan pulled away, Alendariel sighed. She knew what she must do.
Rushing to find Lord Elrond, she found him in his study, as she had anticipated.
"My lord," she said, bowing briefly.
He turned. "Ah, Alendariel. What is it?"
"My lord, my brother and his family have all been trained in the healing and protecting arts. Your daughters...they would be safe here."
"I had heard that you sent your daughter with mine. What shall you do with your own child, then?"
"She is too young to be of any use in battle. But your daughters could be trained, I am sure."
Elrond sighed. "No, Alendairel. I shall not risk their lives."
"They would be invaluable." she protested.
Lord Elrond paused. He was not easily swayed, but he saw the desperation in the young woman's eyes.
"Very well. Would you prefer to return them or have someone sent in your place?" He inquired.
"I shall go." she said quickly. She raced back out of the house to Galadelen, and mounted quickly. She charged after the caravan, which had neared the border of Imladris.
"I beg of you, halt!" she cried after them.
The elven warriors whirled around, their weapons at the ready. Noticing she was one of their kin, they lowered them quickly.
"I have a message from Lord Elrond!" she informed them.
The guards nodded slowly. "Very well. Speak it."
"The Lady Arhiril are to return immediately. Lord Elrond is to have them trained for battle."
The guards blinked in confusion. "But it is battle that he feared. Surely you lie."
She shook her head profusely. "I do not lie." she assured them.

A group of rider rode their horses at an alarming speed toward Rivendell. At their lead, an elf maiden with golden-orange hair a blue-green-gold eyes held a bloody sword in her hand. The other elves in her group consisted of many warriors, the leader's daughter, all worn and scarred from battle. Over a hill, and a caravan was seen, though stopped they were. The group slowed and stopped by them, horses out of breathe.
"I am Lady Eruraina, and these are my riders of Imladris. Tell me, were is Lord Elrond? I have urgent knews, and must speak to him as soon a possible." The lead elf said, great authority in her raspy, weatherworn voice...

Turwaithiel ran over to Rain and stopped the gaurds from questioning her. "There is no need to question her, sirs. Leave her with me." With one stern glare they nodded and left and Tur smiled. "What brings you here, mellon nin?"

Eruraina smiled upon seeing her friend.
"My group of riders and I have just escaped an ambush. I couldn't tell what kind of creatures they were, because they were hooded and cloaked in red cloaks. Three of my group didn't make it. I must tell lord Elrond as soon as possible"

As the caravan turned back in the direction of Imladris, Alendariel spurred her horse onwards, wishing to return direly. She had ensured that her daughter was still on her way to Lorien, however. She noticed the group of riders pour into Imladris, and doubled the speed of the already-galloping animal. She reined the mare in swiftly, and leapt deftly from Galadelen's back, landing before Eruraina and Turwaithiel. "What has occured?" she asked quickly. "The Lord Elrond prepares for battle." she glanced at Eruraina's sword. "Judging by the condition of your sword, I I judge these preparations were not made in vain."
