Arandur stood, staring off into the night. After a while he moved on, prowling restlessly around the edge of the camp, keeping watch.

Deawen drifted asleep when the chills passed
her mind wandered through time and memory she had a dream of falling from an unseen cliff she woke startled, paralyzed in her fear she wasn't sure how long she had been asleep it was still dark and the other two were still there. her forhead was still very damp from the fever but she no longer felt feverish her fever had broke. Her wound stung violently as she shifted her wieght but she ignored it. she heard something stir on the edge of camp, she made a chirping noise like the one she made the day before when she was pinned down. no responce....she chirped again alittle louder. out side the camp a responce came from a nearby phantom. Deawen brightened suddenly she just might get out of here without being interrogated! she pushed her covers back and quietly slipped from her bed then in a heartbeat she dashed past Fearan and The Other.
(Morwen, think of the game we played with your book hehee)

(Grrrr...)
"Stop her! If she leaves now, she is dead!" yelled Maenel, jumping to catch Deawen, who simply shood her off. She realized that it was the loudest she had been in quite some.

(stupid door wouldn't lock! that was the only way you caught me was because the stupid door rebeled against me! )
Deawen lunged forward as Maenel lunged then spun a new direction effortlessly she was barefoot but that wouldn't fase her now. Her steps were light she was biult and trained for moments like these, she could see the edge of the camp this was just too easy she thought to her self. she sprinted down the rows of tents. very few thoughts passed through her mind as she ran for instance her sword and Horse she left behind oor the simple fact she was barefoot and without a cloak on a cold night. but these thoughts did not occur to the fleeting mind of Deawen, this was just too much fun to think about the worries.
(goodness how i just discribed myself)

Arandur heard the yell and saw Deawen flee the tent. He took in her direction in a glance and then ghosted towards the spot.
When she was a few feet away he calmly stepped into her path. She collided with him, but he was ready and simply grabbed her, ignoring her weak struggle to escape. He waited as Maenel came up,
"I have your reluctant patient here, in case you were looking for her."

Deawen didn't forsee the event that hit her next Arandur simply walking in front of her path and we all know mass in motion tends to stay in motion unless acted upon by an outside force... she collided with him and he was ready for it. she twisted and squirmed but nothing would release his grip " you cannot possibly fathom how much i hate you right now" she hissed she sometimes hated her small frame she was always easily caught and held but she wasn't going to give up. Deawen managed to free one hand and used her thumb to jab upwards into Arandur's jaw. her nails dug deep into his skin on his hands and jaw.

Arandur muttered an oath and grabbed at her hand, pulling it away from his face.
"Don't you understand?! We are trying to help you! If you had gotten away right now, you would have died before the sun came up."

Deawen stopped for a moment and considered his words he was in most probability right but why was he so moved to keep her alive? was her question. " why does it matter if I live or die?" she asked tugging at her hand her expression could have matched a very angry cat at this point.

Maenel watched the proceedings quietly. With Deawen's last comment, she put her hand on Deawen's injured shoulder and squeezed, just enough to bring down her guard and give Arandur a chance to regain control over this loose animal. "Because death is not a thing to be treated lightly!" she said fiercely.

Deawen yelped and jumped forward alittle to get away from Maenel." don't do that!" she hissed to Maenel " Death..does not scare me " she said tugging harder on her hand.

"It doesn't matter if it scares you or not, you should value life! If you think that little squeeze was bad, just wait. If they catch you, I will heal you, but the experience will not be pleasant. And if you don't get caught, your death will be considerably more painful. And it will be slow." A breeze was blowing escaped hairs into her eyes-a huge pet-peeve-but she was so intent on getting this message across, she ignored it. Maenel had a problem with death. She headed back to the medical tent.

Deawen heaved a sigh and stopped her fighting " what do you plan on doing with me? " she asked with a shiver.

"Getting you back to the tent, first." Arandur said.

" fine" she said simply she managed to release Arandurs grip from hers and spun on her heel and stormed back to the tent Like a child would when sent to it's room. Deawen sat in the middle of the bed moodily.

Maenel came out carrying bandages over her arm and grinding something furiously in a stone bowl with a mortar. Though she appeared perfectly calm (and cold) as usual, her emotion showed through the finely ground leaves in the bowl." She set it down carefully and began removing the now soiled bandage carefully.

Deawen watched silently only making a sharp intake of breath as the bandages were removed. she was going to have to make a new plan on escaping. she would have to wait for her shoulder to heal.
