She nodded the gentally pulled off his tunic to expose a horrible wound. it looked like the arrow had been poisoned. she broke off the arrow point and in one swift movement pulled it from his shirt.

Eleniel and Melare continued to walk down the long, deep halls of Menegroth. When at last they emerged into the throne room it was as if a hush fell on them, a brooding silence, for the atmosphere there was troubled and all were lost in thought. Only Queen Melian's silver glance fell on them, like a ray of starlight that pierces to the heart.

"I welcome thee home, Eleniel Falassaiwie," she said softly. "All Menegroth thanks you for restoring our beloved harper to light and life." Now she turned her full gaze upon Eleniel. "But there is some shadow on you that my eyes cannot pierce. What darkness does your heart carry?"

Eleniel spoke bravely. "I do not fully understand it myself, Lady, yet I forebode that the shadow upon this hall shall lead to times as dark."

Melian regarded her in thought for a moment. "You perceive well, Eleniel. This shadow may indeed hold grief in store for Doriath." Turning to Melare, she asked gently, "How do you fare in the new light returns to you?"
