Theodred wondered if he should feel guilty for not recalling precisely when Theoden had last dealt with elves; they had always seemed so distant, and he’d come to assume they had little care for Rohan and its people.

“So these orcs grow bolder in their moves,” he mused. The fact that evil was stirring in Mordor was old news—it was their extending journeys that was cause for trouble now. “Has Thranduil spoken with our friend Saruman lately?” he had to add. It had been long since they had heard more than a brief message from the wizard.

"That's the foulest of th enews I bring... I'm surprised you haven't gotten the news. Isengard has trouble brewing about it... Have you not seen the two towers' shadows align? The tower of Sauron in Mordor, the tower of Orthanc in Isengard... We recieved news from the other elves that accompanied My Lord Legolas to Rivendell. Saruman is against us, my lord. He's allied with the Enemy."

(Hi everyone, I'm kind of consumed by pre-uni stuff at the moment So if you want to take over Eomer because he's needed for the story, don't hesitate to do so! I'll try to sort things out and be back ASAP, but I don't want to slow down this RP.)

Anarion rode hard towards the gate of Rohan. He quickly rained Shadowfang to a halt, felling a hard thump against his back. "Do you have to stop so suddenly all the time, would it kill you to slow the blasted beast down first." Complained the husky voice of Gror, his long time Dwarf friend. "I would go slower, but we are always headed to offer aid to someone, and I think they appreciate the hast with which I ride." Anarion replied in sarcastic manner. The Dwarf scoffed, and then replied "A lot of good hast will do them if I arrive with my head pounding like the drums of war, and/or your back so ingured that you can't move" Anarion just huffed will the gaurds approched them.

The two gaurds gave the companions a quick look over, and rhen asked "On what buisness brings a Ranger, and a Dwarf here?" Anarion gave slight bow to the gaurds from the back of his horse, and then said "We come to offer your King, Theoden, assistance in your time of need. We may only be two, but we each have fought many battles, againsr numbers that greatly surpassed our own, and yet we still stand to tell thoughs tales." The gaurds walk off a ways to talk, and then came back, the older gaurd then said "Fallow me."

The gaurd lead them to the Great Hall, and then motioned for the compnions to wait. He then headed to speak to the gaurdes outside the Great Halls doors. The two companions climed down of their mount, and a small boy ran up to take the reigns from Anarion. He handed the boy the reigns, and a small bag of gold. The boy smilled, and started to say something, but Anarion just held his finger in front of his own mouth, which held a smile of it's own, and motioned for the buy to go.

The gaurd returned soon after, and said "You may enter to offer your aid, but you must speak to Theodred, for the King is quite ill at this time. You will have to wait your turn to speak until you are addressed also, for you are not the first visiters to arrive today, it has been quite busy." Anarion, and Gror nodded their understanding, and then were lead up the stars, then through the doors of the Great Hall, and then were shown where to stand until they were recognized. The guard the turned, and left. ss the companions watched him leave, Gror said silently "Is it just me, or does everyone appear to be walking on coals fresh from the forges around here?" "I was just thinking the same thing." Anarion replied grimmly.

The figure sat huddled under the overhang of the local inn, shivering in her spare cloak. Times were lean for the most prosperous of men, even more-so for the destitute of the world. Through hooded eyes she watched the travelers enter the kings halls, then she crept in behind them as the guard looked elsewhere. The only sound she made was a whisper of cloth brushing the doorframe, the only tell-tale sign a flitting shadow on the wall.
