Micha stood at the back of the room in a far corner. He too had been part of the battle to reclaim the city of Minas Ithil.

He had never been much for large crowds or festivities. The battle had been hard but he was proud to have his name on the list of participants. He had some plans to, possibly, help with the rebuilding of the city and help those settle in who would dare pick up and leave their lives to live in the place once infested with the wraith.

Time would tell what would follow. For now he leaned against the wall and observed the happy faces around him. He too was pleased with the evening, and as the festivities went on he produced his lute from his pack and played softly from the corner along with the "official" musicians for the night.

Vendë walked into the room. The cheery people enlightened her mind. She was glad that all her beloved ones were save. A moment she thought of a battle that took place several years ago. But no time for sadness this evening. Vende saw a man playing on his lute. The song was familiar and softly she started to sing.

Micha looked up as a graceful voice began to drift over the noise of the crowd and mingle with the soft melody of his lute. He saw a women just a short distance away.

Once he picked the women out of the crowd he smiled softly, nodded, and went back to playing.

He thought it curious that she knew the tune. It wasn't a tune known to all that many. He had learned it growing up in Eregion but his mother always told him it was an ancient Godorian folk song. It was old, though. Old enough that in many minds it had passed into the shadows of yesterday.

Vende smiled back at the lute player. She was surprised to hear this song. Her father thought her the melody long ago. Speaking of her father, he was sitting at the main table next to Aragorn. Although the Prince of Dol Amroth was not young, he was still a strong and impressive man. The song ended and Vende started to walk in the direction of the main table. But someone came across her path and stopped her. It was one of the childeren of Eomer, her younger cousin.

As Micha finished his song he set his lute aside for the time being and watched the crowd again.

Once the formalities were over and the lines died down he figured he might get himself something to eat.

Elessar and Arwen Undomiel's second son sat at the second table. I hate it, thought Eldîr Telcontar in reply to Miriel’s query. How did this happen, that I am drinking and smiling with some men while others lay dying in the Houses of Healing?

Four different sorts of dishes were served: bread, salad, turkey, rice. Plus fish. No Gondorian feast was complete without a course of fish. Elessar’s cooks prepared fish a dozen different ways.

Micha glanced around the room, noticing the children of the king.

Just then the food started serving so Micha sat himself down in a chair, feeling rather uncomfortable having people all around him on every side.

Vende talked with her cousin for a while and greeted her father. She had to speak to him about an important matter, but this was not the right moment. Therefore she decided to look for a more quiet place to eat her dinner. She saw a empty chair at one of the smaller tables. Next to her, Vende noticed the lute player and she sensed some inconvenience. Why was he uncomfortable? "I believe we're not introduced yet. My name is Vende. May I know yours?"

Miriel frowned at Eldir. "Why the long face?"

(I'm so sorry guys! I'm going to have to step out of this RP. I recently got a new job that is demanding a lot from me. So I'm going to have to drop out. I'm glad I was able to help get the ball rolling, though! Have fun!)

Eldîr scarcely touched a bite. "This is peace," he told Miriel. "This is what I wanted, this is what I fought for, what most of us here have fought for...so why does it taste so much like violence?"

(Congratulations Eruraina!!
Also I want to apologize for being away; I've been on vacation.)

( Ah, sorry to hear you have to drop out Eruraina but yes, congrats on the new job!)

Micha glanced over to the women who sat to his side. He had not realized previously, but it was the same women who had sung softly with his lute playing.

He smiled softly as Vende introduced herself and replied with a simple short answer, "Micha." He nodded kindly with his word.

Miriel's frown deepened. "What do you mean? We are at peace!"

"Temporarily, yes," he replied, "but our warriors remain. They can fight again whenever we wish..."

Micha picked at his food gingerly and shifted in his seat. He was glad to be there, but he would be glad when the formalities were finished.

Miriel sighed. "So..? I mean, sure, you're right. However, worrying about it won't fix anything. You can't just enjoy yourself for once?"
She shook her head at him once again, then glanced around the room. The dances were about to start, and she hoped she'd get a handsome partner.
