"And then there is the matter of the Haradrim opening a slave market within sight of my borders!" he ranted on, indeed unable to enjoy himself for once.

Micha finished his food and looked around, even more uncomfortable than before realizing the dancing was about to start up.

His first thought was... "I better get off the dance floor and pull out my lute so no one wants to dance."

He was quite the ill educated dancer, he was.

Well Micha, what do you think of this new peace? There are rumours that not everybody is ready to give up our armies in the east. That Minas Ithil can never be free of evil.

Miriel spun around and glared at her cousin. "If you want to be like that, go ahead. Don't enjoy yourself." She paused. "Honestly, you can't deal with the Haradrim tomorrow? You have to dwell on it even when you cannot do anything about it? Why do you even bother coming to these things?"

(Cousin? Eldîr is the son of Aragorn and Arwen.)

So Eldîr sat silent through the meal, clad in a silver robe and black thoughts, speaking only when spoken to, brooding on the men and women being bought and sold outside his borders, even as they feasted here within the city. Let his noble companion dance to the ancient Numenorean music.

Micha looked over to Vende and thought for a moment before replying.

"I am glad for peace and cautious of the future," he finally said. "Peace is here and we must cherish and protect it... but we should not let our guard down..." He trailed off and his voice grew grim. "Nothing lasts forever."

Vende frowned. "It seems to me that you have been through a lot and suffered a great loss. What are your plans now this campaign is over?"

Micha evaded the first of Vende's accurate assumptions and moved to her question, glad to have a conversation turn.

"I am an adventurer by trade. So my livelyhood comes from gathering loot on my adventures."

He gave a soft smile and looked around.

"However, it will be nice to have a break and take time to relax in the peace of these lands. After my adventure-lust gets ahold of me I suspect I will be off to look for another adventure."

He glanced over at the women. "What about yoruself?"

"Well, I'm glad I'm able to travel again. Since my father was on campaign with king Aragorn, I represented him in Dol Amroth. People were anxious because of the threats from the south. And I spend a lot of time in the houses of healing. I'm a healer actually. I go were I am needed. It's good to be here, to celebrate freedom and peace. And to see my family and friends". The minstrels played a joyfull dance and suddenly Vende felt an urge to dance. "Like to join me?" she asked Micha. "I see that Miriel and Eldir are dancing too. Although, Eldir looks quite reluctant", Vende smiled.

As dancing came up Micha hesitated. He didn't want to be rude, however.

"I'm not much of a dancer..." he admitted.

Oh, that's oke. I Will join Miriel, I didn't see her for a long time. I hope you will have a pleasant evening. I have a feeling we will meet again.

Miriel grinned at Vende. "Who was that?" There was just a hint of a teasing tone in her voice.

Micha nodded kindly. "Thank you, I hope you take no offense."

He watched Vende head over to Miriel. He knew Miriel, or perhaps he should say knew of her. He did not know her personally.

The minstrels who played next failed to move him, even when they sang of a tower seven levels high, with a little boy on top. "Is that meant to represent my tower?" the prince wondered aloud. "Is the boy on top meant to be me?"

As the music went on Micha stepped out the back door to give himself a little peace and fresh air.

The night was coming to a close quicker than one might have imagined.

Afterward, Eldîr's king father and queen mother led their guests onto the Court of the Fountain so the visitors might behold Minas Tirith by night. Wine-cup in hand, the Gondorian prince wandered the courtyard, beneath the White Tree and its blooming flowers, until he found himself face to face with Micha.
