Hey folks, I’m running a vanilla 1.21 server for my Discord group (8-12 players), but our current host has lag spikes and random downtime. I want to switch to something reliable for under $10-15/mo that can handle vanilla with a few plugins (like CoreProtect). I’m not super techy, so good customer support is a big plus. Any hosting providers you’d recommend for a small server like this? Also, how much RAM do I actually need for 12 players? Thanks for the help! |

I totally get your struggle — finding a reliable and affordable Minecraft host can be tough. For 8–12 players running vanilla 1.21 with a few plugins, around 3–4GB of RAM should be enough. If you use CoreProtect or light management plugins, that setup will run smoothly. I’d recommend checking out community feedback in this top minecraft server hosting thread on Reddit. It’s full of real user reviews comparing uptime, support, and price. Many people there mention hosts like Apex, PebbleHost, and BisectHosting as solid budget options. |

Totally agree — 3–4GB is perfect for small vanilla servers. I’ve had smooth performance with PebbleHost at that setup. Checking community feedback first definitely helps avoid unreliable hosts. |
