Ok, I'm going to try to create a new RP, and this time I'm putting in rules.
1. (Most likely the most important) No drastic powers, such as healing, conjuring elements, and teleporting. I want this to be as natural as possible. You can have skills, such as good fighting abilities, and you can be skilled at tending wounds and such, but nothing drastic.
2. Please keep it down on the elves, since this RP takes place after most of the elves leave for Valinor.
3. No powerplaying without permission, since this may come off as rude to some people, and thus create an awkward RP.
4. If you join this RP late, please read the whole thread before posting. It will cut down on confusion.
5. Last, but not least, give everyone a fair chance to participate. I know things get out of hand and we all have a hard time with concidering everyone, but we can at least try.
Bad guys welcome! lol
----------
My Character:
Name: Arinae Renlith
Race: Mortal
Age: around 30 or so, but looks young, having said to have a touch of elven blood in her background.
Gender: Female
Appearance: Fair skin, and redish blonde wavy hair, waist length, but often pulled back. Dark green eyes. Usually wears tracker/ranger's garb, with a Lorien cloak given to her as a gift.
Abilities: Rather good at tracking, archery, and surviving in the wild, taught to her by the elves of Lorien, as well as swordsmanship taught to her by a friend in Rohan.
Weapons: An elven bow, and a broadsword in Rohan fashion, named Aerisar.
Personality: Youthful and energetic, yet careful in the way she goes about, she is kind and caring and polite, but still cautious around strangers.
Animals: A horse named Stardance, given to her by a friend in Rohan, white in color with a few specks of silver-grey here and there.
History: Arinae was a Rohan child, orphaned at a young age, and a close friend of the family, Elonyn, took her in, but when she was 7, they were traveling when somehow along the way they were seperated. Arinae met with a few elves of Lothlorien, and it was there her name was given to her, and they raised and taught her in the way of the elves. When she was 17, 10 years after she had been seperated from those of Rohan, she had never forgotten Elonyn, and took her leave of the elves, returning to Rohan. She remained there for a while and Elonyn was overjoyed at the long awaited return of Arinae. Arinae took that time to learn how to weild a broadblade, and was given a sword, which she named in the tongue of the Lorien elves she had grown to call family. After having spent her 22nd birthday with the Rohirrim, Arinae longed to return to the elves, and did so, though Elonyn was woeful at her leaving but gave her a horse of the best stock of Rohan, which Elonyn herself had named Stardance. Arinae was greeted warmly by her elven family in Lorien, though few of the elves still remained, and stayed there happily for the time being....
-----------
The Main Story:
30 some years after the Ring, villages in Rohan were being attacked at random, by orcs and the strange men of the far lands, gathered and driven by a force unknown. Though no one knew exactly what was behind the effort, driving it forward, it became rumored that the threat was headed towards Gondor's villages as well. Many began to gather from far and wide to come and pursue this growing enemy. They were small in number, but the threat was still there, as their skill and stealth was surprisingly effective, and they often attacked and burned villages during the night, using darkness as their cover and silence as their attack and escape. Arinae recieved word of these troubles, as well as word of the near death of her dear friend, the one who had raised her since she was an infant till she was 7 and whom she had often returned to visit. She was furious, and despite the insisting of the elves with whom she was dwelling that it was neither of her concern nor theirs, she made ready to take her leave, hoping to gather a small force to avenge the ruin of the villages and to halt the threat. Arinae had decided to once more return to her homeland, to weep for the lost, and defend the land.
Let the games begin! I'll post first.

Arinae packed her satchel well with various herbs, liquids, foods-mostly lembas-, and a few extra clothes and cloaks. She added a couple knives, rolled up in a blanket, and placed them in. Turning her gaze from her packing she let out a sigh, looking over the fair elven land of Lorien. Though the true beauty that had been there during Galadriel's time had faded, it still held enchantment and a deep peacefullness which Arinae so dearly loved. She would return, yes, she would, unles something happened along the way...
Sitting down beneath one of the silver barked trees, she again re-read the note that had been brought to her by a Rohirrim messanger, her heart heavy, for Elonyn was gravely injured from an attack. Arinae dearly hoped she would arrive in time.
She wiped a tear from her cheek and stood quickly, steeling her expression once more, and continued packing.

Rhan strode through the woods. Soaking up her old memories. Of her childhood, of her family and friends. Her black stallion Cayo snorted loudly, and picked at the grass as she stood now still, on the grassy mound of Cair Ammoth (sp).

Arinae sighed and finished her preparations. She wished she didn't have to go alone at so sorrowful a time. She knew she wouldn't be on her guard as well, but most of the remaining elves of Lorien concidered the trouble of Rohan none of their business.

In the clearing near of, Rhavaniel caught a movement. Silently she notched an arrow, and crept forward untill she was quite close, practicly behind the figure. Her arrow was aimed her its neck. "Dina!" she hissed "Mani naa lle umien?" (Be silent! What are you doing?)

Arinae recognized the voice was that of an elf, and she spoke quietly, and calmly "'Quel re, mellon nin, cala'quessir, Rhavaniel." ("Good day, *duh duh*, High elf, *duh*" ^^ lol)

Can I join? Can I be an elf?
If I can I'll just link my profile...

I can take out her element powers and healing powers for this. But could she have skills with healing with plants? Does that count?

(Well... I'd like to keep elves down to a minimal, since they truly do not want much to do with the mortal race anymore, but since it's a first come first serve bases, sure, you can be an elf, but I don't think I'll accept anymore than one more after you...)

(Ok, I suppose that will do, but no healing powers and no water element control, ok?)

Tindomerel sat upon her horse, giving him a pat, as she halted. She looked around. She saw that an elf was holding an arrow to some mortal's neck. "Go Lebethron," she said, getting her stallion to move foreward.
She headed toward the two, stopping her stallion inches away. She dismounted in a flash. Nimloth trotted up beisde her, tongue hanging out of her mouth. "Le suilon," said Tindomerel, calmly, and letting out a small smile, "What is going on?"
(I greet thee.)
((Totally! I never really got into them yet, anyway.))

(Meh, I just thought of something... Rhav, if you're an elf, and if you've visited Lorien often enough, you would have known Arinae, because she's been raised there since she was 7, so I'm not sure holding an arrow to her neck is very conciderate... she's still in Lorien anyway.)
Arinae nodded once to the newcoming elf, "Mae Govannen, mellon nin. It seems the elf behind me has mistaken me for a foe, which I do not know why an elf would even have to think of drawing her bow in the midst of the city of Lorien..." her voice was filled with a slight humorous tone, as she was in the habit of taking things lightly, though she was getting slightly irritated since each minute's delay decreased her chances of seeing Elonyn alive.
